2026 OFC BASEBALL TOURNAMENT BEGINS ON MONDAY
The 2026 OFC Baseball Tournament, featuring seven area schools, begins next week.
The three first round matchups set for Monday will see Greenville facing Clearwater at 11 am, Puxico taking on Naylor at 1 pm, and Neelyville challenging Twin Rivers at 3 pm.
East Carter captured the top seed for the tournament and earned a bye.

UPDATE: TWO TEENAGERS AMONG THREE INJURED IN BUTLER COUNTY CRASH
Updating a story we have been following for you, two teenagers were among three people injured in a Butler County crash Tuesday afternoon.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, an 18 year old Broseley man was driving on Missouri Highway AA when he struck a parked vehicle in a construction zone.
A 16 year old passenger from Poplar Bluff was seriously injured and flown to a St. Louis hospital.
The driver, along with a 20 year old passenger from Fairdealing, also suffered serious injuries and were transported to a Poplar Bluff hospital.
MAN SOUGHT IN CONNECTION TO CORNING BURGLARY INVESTIGATION
Authorities in Northeast Arkansas are searching for a Corning man in connection to a burglary investigation.
On October 1st, officers with the Corning Police Department were dispatched to an area business in reference to a reported break-in. Upon arrival, an officer attempted to make contact with an individual who then fled into a wooded area. A second individual involved in the incident fled from the opposite side of the building.
One of the suspects, 35 year old Jake McDonald, of Corning, was located in Ripley County on October 3rd and taken into custody. He is facing charges of commercial burglary, criminal mischief in the first degree, and criminal trespass.
The second suspect, 52 year old Toby Meredith, of Corning, is still being sought by law enforcement. Officials say that he might be in the Ripley or Butler County areas.

GREENVILLE JACK O’LANTERN JUBILEE STARTS THIS WEEKEND
The 2026 Greenville Jack O’Lantern Jubilee will begin this weekend.
According to the US Army Corps of Engineers, the free event will be held from 5 to 7 pm on October 10th, 17th, and 24th at the Greenville Campground.
Officials say that during the jubilee, area businesses, groups, agencies, and creative campers will decorate their campsites and welcome trick-or-treaters into the campground.

PAVEMENT REPAIR PROJECT SET FOR TODAY IN STODDARD COUNTY
Route F in Stoddard County will be reduced to one lane today as Missouri Department of Transportation crews perform pavement repairs.
The section of Route F being reduced is located from Route J to County Road 442 near Bloomfield.
Work will take place today from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.
CREWS TO BE WORKING TODAY ON ROUTE E IN WAYNE COUNTY
Route E in Wayne County will be reduced to one lane with a 12-foot width restriction today as Missouri Department of Transportation crews perform pavement repairs.
The work zone will be located at the intersection of Business 67 in Greenville. Flaggers will be present and traffic will be guided through by a pilot car.
Work is scheduled to take place from 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.
