THREE RIVERS COLLEGE TO HOST BATTLE OF THE BULLS THIS WEEKEND
Rodeo action will be returning to Poplar Bluff this weekend.
The Three Rivers College Rodeo Team is hosting the 3rd Annual Battle of the Bulls on September 6th at Ray Clinton Park.
The event will begin at 7 pm featuring bull riding and barrel racing.
There will also be activities for kids and food trucks available at the park.
The cost to attend is $15 for adults and $10 for kids ages eight and under.

INVESTIGATION UNDERWAY AFTER BODY FOUND IN BLACK RIVER
The Butler County Coroner’s Office has confirmed the identity of a body that was recovered from the Black River over the weekend.
Coroner Jim Akers tells KWOC News that the body of 47 year old Antonio Atkins, of Portageville, was discovered near Ray Clinton Park at around 3:20 p.m. on Sunday.
An autopsy is scheduled for later today to determine the cause of death.
An investigation into the death is being conducted by the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Poplar Bluff Police Department, and Butler County Coroner’s Office.

CLARKTON MAN KILLED IN MOTORCYCLE CRASH
A Clarkton man was killed in a motorcycle crash over the weekend.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a 52 year old man was riding the motorcycle on a New Madrid County Farm Road when the vehicle travelled off a dead end roadway and into a ditch.
The driver was pronounced dead at the scene Saturday Night by the New Madrid County Coroner.
FOUNDATION REPAIR AND BASEMENT WATERPROOFING COMPANY ANNOUNCES NEW REGIONAL HEADQUARTERS IN SOUTHEAST MISSOURI
A foundation repair and basement waterproofing company has announced that they will be expanding into Missouri with three new regional headquarters across the state, including one in Southeast Missouri.
According to the Missouri Department of Economic Development, Acculevel, Inc., is investing $8.7 million dollars in the state and creating 41 new jobs at each of its new regional headquarters in Kennett, Sarcoxie, and Smithville.
Construction is expected to be finished at the Kennett and Sarcoxie facilities by the end of 2026, with Smithville to follow shortly thereafter.
Officials say that new jobs added as part of Acculevel’s establishment of its facilities will pay an average wage well above the county averages.
PAVEMENT REPAIR PROJECT BEGINS TODAY ON US HIGHWAY 60 IN CARTER COUNTY
Westbound Route 60 in Carter and Shannon counties will be reduced to one lane this week as Missouri Department of Transportation crews perform pavement repairs.
The section of roadway being reduced is located from Route P in Carter County to Route W in Shannon County.
Weather permitting, work will take place today through Thursday, from 6 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. daily
BRIDGE REPLACEMENT TO FORCE CLOSURE OF STODDARD COUNTY ROAD THROUGH MID NOVEMBER
Route O in Stoddard County will be closed beginning this morning as contractor crews replace the bridge over Drainage Ditch 287 near Painton.
The bridge is located between County Road 337 and Route P.
Weather permitting, completion is anticipated by Monday, November 11. This road will remain closed until the work is complete and a sign detour will be in place.
