R.W. HUNTINGTON POOL TO CLOSE FOR THE SEASON THIS WEEKEND

A popular Poplar Bluff attraction will be closing for the season after this weekend.

Officials with Poplar Bluff Parks and Recreation tell KWOC News that time is running out for swimmers to enjoy the R.W. Huntington Pool this season.

The last day the pool will be open is Sunday, August 31st.

PARAGOULD MAN IN CUSTODY FOR SEXUAL ASSAULT CHARGES

Authorities in Northeast Arkansas have arrested an area man on a sexual assault charge.

According to an arrest affidavit, the Paragould Police Department’s Criminal Investigation Division has been conducting a sexual assault investigation after being provided information about a potential inappropriate relationship between 25 year old Reese Wilson and a juvenile

During the investigation, detectives collected corroborative evidence that the allegations of inappropriate contact had occurred.

Wilson is being held in the Greene County Detention Center on two counts of felony sexual assault 4th degree. He was given a $20,000 cash only bond.

AREA LAW ENFORCEMENT PARTICIPATING IN DRIVE SOBER OR GET PULLED OVER CAMPAIGN

Area law enforcement agencies are reminding everyone to not drink and drive as we get closer to Labor Day.

Law enforcement agencies across Missouri and Arkansas are participating in the Drive Sober or Get Pulled Over enforcement period through September 1st.

The high-visibility enforcement effort is designed to deter impaired driving and prevent avoidable tragedies in the leadup to and during the Labor Day holiday weekend.

MEETINGS SCHEDULED FOR THIS WEEK TO DISCUSS FLOODPLAIN STUDY FOR FUTURE INTERSTATE 57

Two public involvement meetings have been scheduled for this week to present and discuss a floodplain study along the Black and Current Rivers for the Proposed Future Interstate 57 in Clay, Greene, Lawrence, and Randolph counties.

According to the Arkansas Department of Transportation, the first meeting will be held tonight at the Pocahontas Community Center. The second meeting will follow on Thursday at the M.B. Ainley Community Center in Corning.

Both meetings are scheduled for 4:30 to 6:30 pm.

CAMPBELL AREA ROAD SCHEDULED TO BE REDUCED FOR PAVEMENT REPAIRS

Route WW in Dunklin County will be reduced to one lane today as Missouri Department of Transportation crews perform pavement repairs.

The section of roadway being reduced is located between County Roads 202 and 222 near Campbell.

Weather permitting, work will take place from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.

PAVEMENT REPAIRS TO FORCE SOUTHEAST MISSOURI ROAD TO BE REDUCED TODAY

Route H in Dunklin County will be reduced to one lane for part of today so crews can perform pavement repairs.

According to the Missouri Department of Transportation, the work zone will be located near Valley Ridge, from County Road 108 to Robins Nest Lane.

The road is scheduled to be reduced from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. today.
