CRASH INVOLVING ELECTRIC BICYCLE LEAVES ONE DEAD IN NEW MADRID COUNTY
A Marston man was killed in a weekend crash on US Highway 61.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the man was riding on an electric bicycle Sunday afternoon when he failed to yield and pulled into the path of another vehicle.
The man, identified as 65 year old Randy Phillips, was pronounced dead at the scene by New Madrid County Coroner, George Delisle.
SUBJECT IN CUSTODY IN CONNECTION TO FATAL SHOOTING IN MISSOURI BOOTHEEL
A subject is in custody in connection to a death Sunday night in the Missouri bootheel.
According to the Pemiscot County Sheriff’s Office, investigators were called to a residence in Steele at around 9:30 pm Sunday to investigate a fatal shooting.
During the investigation a juvenile suspect was developed and later taken into custody.
Officials say that the investigation is ongoing and an autopsy is scheduled to be performed on Tuesday.
MAN FLOWN FROM THE SCENE OF A CRASH SUNDAY MORNING IN POPLAR BLUFF AREA
A local man was flown from the scene of a crash Sunday morning in the Poplar Bluff area.
Officials with the Missouri State Highway Patrol tell KWOC News that the crash occurred shortly before 2 am Sunday morning on Business Highway 67, just west of Poplar Bluff, when a vehicle ran off the roadway and struck a ditch.
The driver, a 20 year old Poplar Bluff man, suffered serious injuries in the crash and was flown to a Memphis hospital.
SUBJECT ARRESTED FOR ALLEGEDLY BRANDISHING A FIREARM IN POPLAR BLUFF
A man is facing a charge following an incident involving a firearm last week in Poplar Bluff.
According to the Poplar Bluff Police Department, on Friday, officers responded to a report of a subject brandishing a firearm on Sycamore Street.
An investigation led to the arrest of 47 year old David Webb, of Poplar Bluff, who was lodged at the Butler County Justice Center.
Officials say that charges for unlawful use of a weapon were forwarded to the Butler County Prosecutor’s Office.
MISSISSIPPI MAN ARRESTED IN NORTHEAST ARKANSAS ON SEXUAL ASSAULT AND COMPUTER EXPLOITATION OF A CHILD CHARGES
Authorities in Northeast Arkansas have arrested a Mississippi man on multiple charges.
According to the Paragould Police Department, earlier this summer a Paragould detective was advised of an ongoing sexual assault investigation in another jurisdiction. Evidence was provided that an incident had also occurred in Paragould.
Further investigation led to allegations that 26 year old Barry Yarbrough, of Noxapater, Mississippi, had inappropriate contact with a juvenile and also created a digital recording of the incident.
Yarbrough has been charged with computer exploitation of a child and 4th degree sexual assault.
He was held in the Greene County Jail on no bond.
CULVERT REPLACEMENT TO CAUSE DELAYS THIS WEEK IN BLOOMFIELD
Route J in Stoddard County will be reduced to one lane this week as Missouri Department of Transportation Crews replace a culvert under the roadway.
The section of roadway being reduced is located from Route AA to Route 25 in Bloomfield.
Weather permitting, work will take place today through Thursday, from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day.
