TODAY’S TALK KWOC TO HOST POPLAR BLUFF CITY COUNCIL DEBATE
Candidates for the Poplar Bluff City Council will be making their case ahead of the municipal election this April.
Today’s Talk KWOC will be hosting a debate featuring the candidates at 6 pm on March 16th.
Everyone running for the city council is invited to participate.

FEDERAL, STATE, AND LOCAL AUTHORITIES CONDUCT FRAUD INVESTIGATION IN DUNKLIN COUNTY
Officers with federal, state, and local agencies were in Dunklin County for an ongoing investigation.
According to the Dunklin County Sheriff’s Office, the Missouri State Highway Patrol, Department of Homeland Security, the Kennett Police Department, the Dunklin County Sheriff’s Office, and the Southeast Missouri Drug Task Force, assisted Missouri Department of Revenue investigators with the execution of a search warrant and several knock-and-talks at multiple residences throughout Dunklin County on Tuesday.
Officials say that the operation was conducted as part of an ongoing investigation related to fraudulent identification documents. They noted that Immigration and Customs Enforcement took no part in the investigation.
The Sheriff’s Department added that the investigation remains active, and additional details will be released as they become available.
STORM SPOTTER TRAINING COURSE TO BE HELD THIS MONTH IN POPLAR BLUFF
You have the opportunity to learn more about different weather risks and how to report them at a class scheduled for this month in Poplar Bluff.
The National Weather Service will be hosting a Skywarn Storm Spotter Training Basic Spotter Course on Monday, January 26th.
The event will begin at 6 pm at Three Rivers College.
The class will last for approximately two and a half hours and all course material is free.

DATE SET FOR DONIPHAN R-1 KINDERGARTEN SCREENING
The Doniphan R-1 school district has set the date for screening for kindergarten students.
According to school officials, screening will take place on Monday, March 16th.
To be eligible for kindergarten, children must be five years old before July 31st, 2025.
Screenings last approximately 30 minutes and are by appointment only. Students who are currently enrolled in Doniphan Pre-K will not need to attend a screening.

CULVERT REPLACEMENT SET FOR TODAY ON ROUTE FF IN BUTLER COUNTY
Route FF in Butler County will be closed today so Missouri Department of Transportation crews can replace culverts under the roadway.
Crews will be working from County Road 6262 to County Road 635.
Weather permitting, work will take place today from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
CREWS TO CLOSE STODDARD COUNTY ROAD TODAY FOR CULVERT REPLACEMENT
Route PP in Stoddard County will be closed today as Missouri Department of Transportation crews replace a culvert under the roadway.
The closure will be located from County Road 263 to County Road 267 near Puxico.
Weather permitting, work will take place today from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m.
