PARMA WOMAN APPOINTED AS ASSOCIATE CIRCUIT JUDGE FOR STODDARD COUNTY
A Parma woman will be taking a Judge position in Stoddard County.
Missouri Governor Mike Kehoe announced Friday that Beth "LeAnn" Ryan, of Parma, has been appointed as the Associate Circuit Judge for Stoddard County in the 35th Judicial Circuit.
She is filling the vacancy created by the resignation of Judge Joe Satterfield.
Ryan is the first assistant prosecutor in the Stoddard County Prosecuting Attorney's Office and previously served as an assistant prosecuting attorney and juvenile attorney for the Pemiscot County Prosecuting Attorney's Office.
MAN KILLED IN SINGLE VEHICLE CRASH IN NORTHEAST ARKANSAS
A Northeast Arkansas man has died following a single vehicle crash.
According to the Greene County Sheriff Brad Snyder, Deputies and Arkansas State Police responded to the scene of a single vehicle fatal crash Friday morning involving a tractor trailer south of Delaplaine.
According to the Arkansas State Police, a vehicle driven by 60 year old Randall Nicholas, of Bono, ran off the roadway and overturned. Nicholas was killed in the wreck.
Officials say the crash occurred shortly after 3 am.
DEXTER MAN CHARGED WITH DRUG TRAFFICKING FOLLOWING TRAFFIC STOP
A traffic stop led to the arrest of an area man on a drug trafficking charge.
According to the Stoddard County Sheriff’s Department, on September 3rd, a deputy was assisting the Southeast Missouri Drug Task Force when he conducted a traffic stop as part of an ongoing narcotics investigation.
During the stop, the passenger, identified as Randall Moore Jr. of Dexter, was found to be in possession of three clear plastic baggies containing methamphetamine. The total weight of the narcotics seized was approximately 3 ounces.
Moore was taken into custody and a warrant was issued, charging him with felony trafficking drugs 1st degree and misdemeanor unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.
Stoddard County Chief Deputy Andrew Holden tells KWOC News that the investigation remains active, and additional charges may be forthcoming.
2025 FISK FALL FESTIVAL COMING THIS WEEKEND
The Fisk community will be coming together this weekend for their annual fall festival.
The 2025 Fisk Fall Festival will begin with the parade at 10 am on Saturday.
There will also be a car show, dunk booths, vendors, and many more activities for the entire family at the Fisk City Park.
STODDARD COUNTY FAIR SET FOR MID SEPTEMBER
The schedule has been announced for the 98th Stoddard County Fair.
The fair will kick-off with the parade in downtown Dexter on Tuesday, September 16th at 5:30 pm.
There will be multiple nights of entertainment and events through September 20th, including the livestock auction, tractor pull, and more.

WAYNE COUNTY ROAD TO BE CLOSED FOR MOST OF THIS WEEK
Route U in Wayne County will be closed through Thursday as Missouri Department of Transportation crews perform pavement repairs.
The section of roadway being closed is located from Route B to the end of state maintenance.
Weather permitting, work will take place from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily through Thursday. This roadway will be open to local traffic only and will be guided with a pilot car.
PAVEMENT REPAIRS SCHEDULED FOR THIS WEEK NEAR CAMPBELL
Route DD in Dunklin County will be reduced to one lane early this week as Missouri Department of Transportation crews perform pavement repairs.
The work zone is located from County Road 228 to Route 53 near Campbell.
Weather permitting, work will take place both today and tomorrow from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. each day.
