ONE DEAD FOLLOWING CAR FIRE IN SOUTHERN WAYNE COUNTY

Emergency crews responded to the scene of a fatal car fire Tuesday in Southern Wayne County.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a vehicle travelled off the right side of Northbound US Highway 67, nine miles south of Greenville.

The vehicle then struck a ditch, overturned, and caught fire.

The driver, a 20 year old man from Wisconsin, was pronounced dead at the scene.

EMERGENCY CREWS RESPOND TO FATAL CRASH IN BUTLER COUNTY

One person was killed, and another four were injured in a two vehicle crash Tuesday afternoon

Two vehicles were involved in the crash near the intersection of Business Highway 60 and Route NN outside of Poplar Bluff.

A passenger in the second vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver and two other passengers received serious injuries and were flown to a Memphis hospital.

A passenger in the first vehicle received minor injuries was transported to a Poplar Bluff hospital.

BUTLER COUNTY SIREN TEST TO BE CONDUCTED ON THE FOURTH OF JULY

The monthly outdoor siren test for Butler County will be conducted this month on the 4th of July.

Officials say that the Poplar Bluff and Butler County outdoor siren test has been scheduled for noon on Friday.

During the test, all sirens will play God Bless America.

NORTHEAST ARKANSAS MAN CHARGED WITH NEGLIGENT HOMICIDE IN CONNECTION TO FATAL CRASH

A Northeast Arkansas man is facing multiple charges in connection to a fatal crash from last week.

The Arkansas State Police announced Tuesday that Special Agents with the ASP Criminal Investigation Division have arrested 25 year old Taylor Rhoades, of Pocahontas, in connection with a fatal crash on Interstate 555 near Trumann that resulted in the deaths of two Paragould residents.

Rhoades was driving northbound on I-555 when his vehicle struck two men who were standing near a car parked on the shoulder. 36 year old Tyler Slayton and 31 year old Jacob Ward, both of Paragould, were repairing a flat tire when they were fatally struck.

A Sheriff’s Deputy later observed Rhoades’ vehicle with significant damage and conducted a traffic stop. Evidence discovered during the stop linked the vehicle to the fatal incident.

Rhoades has been charged with Negligent Homicide, DWI, Careless or Prohibited Driving, and Leaving the Scene of an Accident with Injuries. He is currently being held in the Poinsett County Detention Center on a $100,000 bond.

TEENAGER INJURED AFTER STRIKING MULTIPLE OBJECTS DURING CRASH AND COMING TO REST UNDER A MODULAR HOME

A teenager only received moderate injuries after being involved in an extreme crash Monday night in Van Buren.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a 19 year old man, from Ellisnore, was driving on Broadway Street when he drove through a low water dip, became airborne, traveled off the left side of the roadway, struck a utility pole, returned to the roadway, traveled off the right side of the roadway, and then struck an embankment and a stationary vehicle before coming to rest under a modular home.

Through all of that, the teen suffered moderate injuries and was transported to a Poplar Bluff hospital by ambulance.

LAKE WAPPAPELLO STATE PARK IN WILLIAMSVILLE TO HOST MOVIE IN THE PARK THIS WEEKEND

Lake Wappapello State Park in Williamsville is hosting a movie showing this weekend.

Movie in the Park will begin at dusk on Saturday, July 5th at the amphitheater located at 8005 State Highway 172 in Williamsville.

Officials say that the movie Uncharted will be shown, free of charge.
