POPLAR BLUFF HIGH SCHOOL GRADUATION SET FOR TONIGHT

The Poplar Bluff High School Class of 2025 will be receiving their diplomas tonight.

The PBHS Graduation Ceremony will be held tonight beginning at 7 pm at the Black River Coliseum. Doors will open at 6 pm and only people with tickets will be admitted.

Officials say that no admittance will be permitted after 7 pm.

For those who cannot attend, a live stream of the graduation ceremony will be available on the Mules Media youtube page.

EUGENE FIELD ELEMENTARY ONE OF EIGHT IN MISSOURI NAMED AS GOLD STAR SCHOOL

An elementary school in Southeast Missouri was one of eight schools across the state to be named as a Gold Star School.

According to the Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, Eugene Field Elementary School in Poplar Bluff was chosen for the program, which recognizes schools that perform at high academic levels or that perform at high levels while serving a significant proportion of disadvantaged students.

The Missouri Gold Star Schools program uses the same criteria for nomination as the National Blue Ribbon Schools program.

DEADLINE FOR STORM DEBRIS PICKUP IN POPLAR BLUFF IS MAY 23RD

The deadline is coming up for Poplar Bluff residents to get city assistance in picking up storm debris.

According to the Poplar Bluff Street Department, the city will no longer pick up debris from the March 14th tornado after May 23.

A post on the Street Department Facebook Page says that if you have hired someone to cut or trim trees that have green leaves on them you or they will be responsible for their removal.

FEED AND SEED EVENT SCHEDULED FOR TODAY

New Day Ministry in Poplar Bluff will be hosting a feed and seed event today.

The event is from 3 to 5 pm and is first come, first serve, with packs limited to one per household.

OVER TWO WEEK LONG ROAD PROJECT UNDERWAY IN WAYNE COUNTY

Route 34 in Wayne and Bollinger counties will be reduced to one lane with a 15-foot width restriction for over two weeks as contractor crews perform pavement preservation treatments.

The section of roadway affected is located from Route 67 in Wayne County to County Road 808 in Bollinger County. Flaggers and a pilot car will be in place to guide traffic.

Weather permitting, work will take place from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m. daily through Friday, May 30.

PAVEMENT REPAIRS SCHEDULED FOR TODAY ON ROUTE WW IN DUNKLIN COUNTY

Route WW in Dunklin County will be reduced as MoDOT crews perform pavement repairs.

According to officials, the work zone will be located from County Road 206 to Morris State Park Road near Campbell.

Weather permitting, work will take place today from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
