TWO SERIOUSLY INJURED IN WRECK NEAR CARDWELL

Two Kennett residents were injured Thursday afternoon in a single vehicle wreck near Cardwell.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 38 year old Yvonne Gosnell was driving on US Highway 412 when her vehicle ran off the roadway, struck two signs, and overturned.

Gosnell suffered serious injuries in the wreck and was flown to a Memphis hospital. A passenger in the vehicle also received serious injuries and was flown to a Jonesboro hospital.

TRACTOR PULL SET FOR TONIGHT AT THE STODDARD COUNTY FAIR

The Stoddard County Fair is continuing tonight and on Saturday with multiple events at the Stoddard County Fair Grounds.

At 7 pm tonight, the lawn tractor pull is scheduled to begin at Arena A. The Karaoke Contest will be continuing at that time as well on the main stage.

There are numerous events scheduled for Saturday, including the livestock auction, public speech contest, and demo derby in addition to performances by Chas and 16th Avenue, Two Lane Highway and the Justin Heskett Band.

POPLAR BLUFF TECHNICAL CAREER CENTER TO HOST CAR AND MOTOR SHOW

A car show has been scheduled for this weekend in Poplar Bluff.

According to school officials, the Poplar Bluff Technical Career Center will host its first Car and Motor Show on Saturday.

The event will run from 9 am to 3 pm at the Poplar Bluff High School and will also feature food and games.

JOHN J. PERSHING VA MEDICAL CENTER TO HOLD CEREMONY FOR NATIONAL POW/MIA REMEMBRANCE DAY

Today is National POW/MIA Remembrance day and an area hospital will be holding a special ceremony.

The John J. Pershing VA Medical Center in Poplar Bluff will be hosting a special commemorative ceremony at the Tinnin Fine Arts Center on the campus of Three Rivers College beginning at 11 am.

The ceremony will honor those who were imprisoned for their country, and remember with reverence those who did not come home.

HUNTER EDUCATION COURSE SCHEDULED FOR NEXT WEEK IN POPLAR BLUFF

A Hunter Education Course has been scheduled for next week in Poplar Bluff.

The course will be held from 5:30 to 9:30 pm on Monday, September 23rd, at the Poplar Bluff Junior High School Gym.

The course is open to the public at no cost.

Students must preregister online at mdc.mo.gov and bring proof of completion of a knowledge portion of the hunter education course. There is a limited number of seats remaining.

ROAD PROJECT UNDERWAY IN NEW MADRID COUNTY

Route FF in New Madrid County is being reduced with an 8-foot width restriction through part of next month as contractor crews mill and overlay the roadway with asphalt.

According to the Missouri Department of Transportation, the work zone is located from Route 60 to Route H.

Weather permitting, work will take from 6 am to 8 pm daily, through Saturday, October 12th.
