SEVERAL VEHICLE CRASHES REPORTED IN DUNKLIN COUNTY

 

There were two vehicle crashes reported in Dunklin County on Thursday.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol tells (Station Name) News that the first crash occurred on Route F, near Cardwell, where a vehicle failed to negotiate a curve, running off the left side of the roadway and overturning.

The second crash occurred on Highway WW, near Campbell, where a vehicle overcorrected, running off the right side of the roadway and striking an embankment before overturning.

Both drivers received moderate injuries from their collisions, both were transported to hospitals – one in Paragould, Arkansas, and one in Piggott.

INJURIES REPORTED FOLLOWING VEHICLE CRASH IN STODDARD COUNTY

 

Injuries were reported on Thursday following a vehicle crash in Stoddard County.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred on Route AF and County Road 624, where a vehicle travelled off the left side of the roadway, before striking an embankment as they attempted to correct their position on the road.

The driver of the vehicle received minor injuries, and was transported to a hospital in Sikeston.

ROAD IN STODDARD COUNTY BEING REDUCED FOR REPAIRS

 

A road in Stoddard County is being reduced for repairs today.

According to the Missouri Department of Transportation, Route U in Stoddard County will be reduced to one lane so that crews with the department can perform drainage repairs.

The roadway is located from County Road 607 to Winchester Road, with repairs scheduled to be from today through January 3rd, from 8 am to 3pm daily.

PUBLIC HEARING SCHEDULED FOR THE CITY OF POPLAR BLUFF IN JANUARY

 

The city of Poplar Bluff will be holding a public hearing in January.

The hearing is scheduled to be hosted on January 6th, at the Black River Coliseum at 6:30 pm, and is set to discuss the city’s submission of an application for the 2020 MDNR Land and Water Conservation Fund grant cycle.

MISSOURI STATE HIGHWAY PATROL RELEASES RESULTS OF CHRISTMAS COUNTING PERIOD

 

The results of this year’s Christmas counting period has been released.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the total number of crashes, fatalities, injuries from crashes, and arrests on DWI charges are all significantly lower than last year’s counting period – with 91 crashes, two fatalities, 23 injured, and 18 DWI arrests.

The 2018 counting period reported in over 1,100 crashes, 11 fatalities, 421 injuries, and 106 DWI arrests.

The counting period was also shorter than last year’s at 30 hours from Tuesday through Wednesday, compared to the previous 102 hour counting period in 2018.

CLASSES FOR BECOMING A COURT APPOINTED SPECIAL ADVOCATE STARTING IN FEBRUARY

 

There are upcoming classes scheduled for becoming a Court Appointed Special Advocate.

According to the Butler County Community Resource Council, there will be new classes forming to become a CASA in February of 2020.
