MISSING PERSONS IN STODDARD COUNTY NO LONGER CONSIDERED ENDANGERED 

Updating a story we brought to you previously, the missing persons out of Stoddard County are no longer considered endangered.

The missing persons are 48 year old Maria Reyes, 45 year old Esbin Martinez, and 7 year old Arynay Reyes. The mother and daughter both are Hispanic females with brown eyes and brown hair, and Martines is a Hispanic male.

According to officials with the Dexter Police Department, video surveillance recovered during the investigation showed that the three subjects left their residence in a 2005 Silver Pontiac Grand AM with tinted windows, carrying bags with them.

Additional video out of Advance showed that they were inside a business, purchasing items from the store and under no distress. Blood found in a previous investigation has been confirmed to not belong to any of the three.

WOMAN ARRESTED IN WAYNE COUNTY ON METHAMPHETAMINE POSSESSION 

A woman was taken into custody in Wayne County on Tuesday on methamphetamine possession.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 44 year old Linda Wood, of Piedmont, was arrested on felony possession of a controlled substance – methamphetamine, as well as a felony charge for resisting arrest, and unlawful use of drug paraphernalia.

She was transported to the Wayne County Jail following her arrest.

INJURIES REPORTED FOLLOWING VEHICLE COLLISION IN BUTLER COUNTY 

Minor injuries were reported on Wednesday following a vehicle collision in Butler County.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol tells KWOC News that the crash occurred on US 160 at Highway C, where a vehicle failed to stop at a stop sign and pulled into the path of another oncoming vehicle.

An occupant of the initial vehicle received minor injuries as a result of the crash, and was transported to a Poplar Bluff hospital.

MAN ARRESTED IN PEMISCOT COUNTY ON SEXUAL ASSAULT CHARGE 

A man was taken into custody in Pemiscot County on a sexual assault charge.

According to the Steele Police Department, 63 year old James Wilbourn, of Steele, was arrested on a an attempted rape charge – 1st degree, after authorities responded to a report from a 32 year old woman, saying that she was assaulted by Wilbourn in her home, as well as presumably threatening her life.

Wilbourn was transported to the Pemiscot County Jail following his arrest, on no bond.

FILING CONTINUES FOR POPLAR BLUFF CITY COUNCIL SEATS 

Filing for two seats on the Poplar Bluff City Council continues.

The seats on file are currently held by deputy mayor pro tempore Steve Davis and current council member Ron Black, with four people having already filed for the seats, which include Davis himself. Black has been reported saying he is unsure if he will run for another term.

Filing for the positions will continue until January 21st, and is available at the Poplar Bluff City Clerk’s office at 501 Vine Street, from 7:30 am and 4:30 pm Monday through Friday, and 7: 30 am through 5 pm on the final filing day.

KENNETT FIRE DEPARTMENT RESPONDS TO STRUCTURE FIRE 

The Kennett Fire Department responded to a structure fire on Tuesday.

According to the department, the fire called in was located at Court Street, where a building was in heavy flame by the time the department arrived. There were no injuries reported, however the building sustained heavy damage.

The cause of the fire has yet to be determined, and is currently under investigation.
