ARKANSAS TEENAGER KILLED IN SINGLE VEHICLE WRECK

A Northeast Arkansas teenager was killed Monday evening in a single vehicle wreck in Southeast Missouri.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the wreck occurred shortly after 6 pm on Highway 108 in Dunklin County. Officials say that a vehicle traveled off the left side of the road and struck a ditch.

The 16 year old driver from Jonesboro was pronounced dead at the scene. A 15 year old passenger suffered serious injuries and was flown to a Jonesboro hospital.

TWO SOUTHEAST MISSOURI MEN ARRESTED ON GUN RELATED CHARGES IN POPLAR BLUFF

Two Southeast Missouri brothers were arrested on gun related charges earlier this month in Poplar Bluff.

According to authorities, 32 year old Benjamin Price and Joseph Price, of Poplar Bluff, were taken into custody on December 5th at a Poplar Bluff convenience store.

The pair had multiple guns and over 1,000 rounds of ammunition inside a vehicle. They were evaluated at a psychiatric hospital and reportedly told doctors that they were planning to kill multiple individuals.

MAN BEING SOUGHT IN CONNECTION TO PEMISCOT COUNTY HOMICIDE INVESTIGATION

Authorities in Pemiscot County are searching for a suspect in connection to a homicide investigation.

A search is underway for 57 year old Dennis Green Sr., who could be in a blue Chevy pickup truck with a possible Missouri plate number of 2SX 931.

According to the Caruthersville Police Department, Green is a black male, five feet, 10 inches tall, weighing 230 pounds, with brown eyes.

It is unknown what direction Green was travelling, but he is believed to be armed with an unknown type of handgun.

If you see Green, you are advised to not approach him and contact your law enforcement agency.

THREE RIVERS COLLEGE ORGANIZES DONATIONS FOR AREA FAMILIES

Thirteen area families will be receiving a collection of Christmas essentials from Three Rivers College.

Each family will receive food for a Christmas dinner, a Crock Pot, table-top Christmas tree, wreath, and presents for children. The College organized the donations in partnership with the Boys and Girls Club and AmeriCorps.

Donations were given by Three Rivers staff and faculty, as well as area businesses including Briggs and Stratton, the Ozark Federal Credit Union, and Harps/10 Box.

POPLAR BLUFF MAN ARRESTED ON METH CHARGE IN STODDARD COUNTY

Authorities in Stoddard County have arrested a Poplar Bluff man on a drug charge.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 21 year old Jordan Holloway was taken into custody at around 12:40 pm Monday on a charge of possession of a controlled substance – methamphetamine.

Following the arrest, Holloway was held at the Stoddard County Jail.

FUNDING ANNOUNCED FOR TWO POPLAR BLUFF CLASSROOM PROJECTS

Two 'innovative educational projects' valued at more than $3,500 total will be funded thanks to the Poplar Bluff School Foundation.

According to Poplar Bluff school officials, the foundation board unanimously approved the projects during a meeting held last month as part of the nonprofit's mini-grant program, which funds proposals based on merit above and beyond regular classroom budgets.

The projects will allow students to collect data for NASA and participate in group activities using digital microscopes.

ELLSINORE MAN TAKEN INTO CUSTODY ON TERRORIST THREAT WARRANT

An area man has been taken into custody in Carter County on a terrorist threat warrant.

Officials with the Missouri State Highway Patrol tell KWOC News that 56 year old Billy Stovall, of Ellsinore, was arrested Monday afternoon on a Poplar Bluff Police Department felony warrant for terrorist threat – 2nd degree.

Following the arrest, Stovall was transported to the Butler County Jail.
