AUTHORITIES INVESTIGATING FATAL SHOOTING IN MARSTON AREA 

Authorities in New Madrid County are investigating a fatal shooting.  

A woman was found dead Wednesday at a rest area off Interstate 55 in the Marston area. The woman’s name has not been released.  

The incident is under investigation and authorities are searching for a possible suspect.

MAN CONVICTED ON MURDER CHARGE IN 2015 SHOOTING 

A Parma man has been convicted of first degree murder for the shooting death of Brenda Smith in 2015. 

Smith was shot during the robbery of a Parma area business in May of 2015.  

According to Missouri Case Net, on Wednesday Deion Martin was found guilty of murder 1st degree, robbery 1st degree, and two counts of armed criminal action.  

Martin’s sentencing has been scheduled for December 17th.

STODDARD COUNTY BRIDGE TO BE REPLACED NEXT SUMMER 

Plans are underway to replace a bridge in Stoddard County next summer.  

Officials with the Missouri Department of Transportation tell KWOC News that the plan is to replace the Route T bridge over Turkey Creek near the Mingo National Wildlife Refuge.  

The bridge will be closed to traffic for approximately eight to 12 weeks during construction.  

Officials say that any person affected by the project may request that a public hearing be held in regard to the proposed improvements.

WOMAN ARRESTED ON FELONY DRUG CHARGE IN WAYNE COUNTY 

A woman was taken into custody Wednesday in Wayne County on a felony drug charge.  

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 36 year old Aimee Reid, of Hillsboro, was arrested Wednesday morning on a felony charge of possession of a controlled substance – methamphetamine.  

Reid is also facing a charge of unlawful use of drug paraphernalia.  

Following the arrest, she was held at the Wayne County Jail.

VETERANS CELEBRATION SERVICE TO BE HELD TODAY IN DONIPHAN 

A Doniphan church will be holding a service today for veterans.  

The Veterans Celebration Service will be held at 11 am today at First Baptist Church in Doniphan.  

Bill Federer, a nationally known speaker and host of American Minute Radio, will be the guest speaker. Officials say lunch will be served immediately following the service.

2018 PRINCESS WARRIORS WOMEN’S CONFERENCE TO BEGIN TOMORROW 

An area Women’s Conference is scheduled to begin tomorrow.  

2018 Princess Warriors will be held on Friday and Saturday at 727 Ridge Avenue in Poplar Bluff. 

The conference is described as a group of women uniting in purpose to encourage, equip, and exhort one another.  

Doors will open at 5 pm on Friday with the service beginning at 6:30 pm. Registration is $25 and includes a T-shirt and lunch on Saturday.
