ONE KILLED IN MADISON COUNTY WRECK

One person has died in connection to a wreck Wednesday morning in Madison County.

Officials with the Missouri State Highway Patrol tell KWOC News that the wreck occurred shortly before 7 am on Highway OO, around four miles north of Fredericktown.

A vehicle driven by 24 year old Gwendolynn McDaniel, of Farmington, allegedly crossed the centerline of the highway and struck another vehicle.

McDaniel was pronounced dead at the scene. No other injuries were reported.

 

SIKESTON MAN ARRESTED ON MULTIPLE CHILD PORNOGRAPHY CHARGES

Authorities in Scott County arrested a Sikeston man Wednesday on multiple child pornography charges.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 55 year old Roger Webb was arrested shortly after 3 pm Wednesday in Scott County on a felony charge of promoting child pornography 1st degree.

Webb was also arrested on six counts of felony possession of child pornography.

Following his arrest, Webb was held at the Scott County Jail.

 

TWO FACING METH CHARGE OUT OF BUTLER COUNTY

Two men were arrested last night in Butler County on a meth related charge.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 45 year old Gregory Summers, of Naylor, and 30 year old Thomas Crumley, of Neelyville, were each arrested at around 11 pm on a felony charge of possession of a controlled substance – methamphetamine.

Crumley was also arrested on felony charges of resisting arrest and possession of a controlled substance in a county jail.

 

DEXTER MAN IN CUSTODY ON CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE AND ASSAULT WARRANT

A Dexter man is in custody this morning on a controlled substance and assault warrant.

Officials with the Stoddard County Sheriff’s Department tell KWOC News that 32 year old Jeffrey McFarlen was recently arrested on a warrant for possession of a controlled substance and domestic assault 4th degree.

McFarlen’s bond was set at $12,500 and officials say he remained in jail as of this morning.

 

TWO NEW MADRID MEN ARRESTED ON FELONY DRUG CHARGE

Two area men were arrested Wednesday afternoon in Scott County on a felony drug charge.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 22 year old Donald McLarty and 20 year old Samuel Moore, both of New Madrid, were each taken into custody shortly before 3 pm yesterday on a felony charge of possession with intent to distribute marijuana.

Following the arrests, both men were held at the Scott County Jail.

 

CREWS RESPOND TO FIRE IN BLYTHEVILLE

Crews were out last night in Northeast Arkansas battling a fire in Downtown Blytheville.

The fire was located at a building in the area of Main and Franklin streets. The building contains apartments whose residents were evacuated.

The fire crews took steps to contain the fire and prevent it from affecting nearby buildings. A cause for the fire has not been released.

 

PARAGOULD POLICE REPORTING NUMEROUS INCIDENTS OF ITEMS BEING STOLEN OUT OF VEHICLES

Authorities in Paragould say that there have been numerous recent incidents where items have been stolen from vehicles.

According to the Paragould Police Department, the items range from candy and change to firearms and the bulk of the thefts have been the result of vehicles being left unlocked overnight.

Officials say that windows have also been broken in order to steal the property. In these cases, the property taken was left in plain sight.

Residents are reminded to keep your vehicle doors locked, and keep valuable property, especially firearms, out of your vehicles when they are left unattended.
