SEVERAL ARRESTS MADE IN STODDARD COUNTY FOLLOWING NARCOTICS SWEEP
Officials with several departments have made multiple arrests in Stoddard County following a narcotic sweep in Dexter.
According to the Dexter Police Department, authorities with the department, as well as officials from the SEMO Drug Task Force, Stoddard County Sheriff’s Department, and the Missouri State Highway Patrol, made several arrests and citations following a targeted narcotics sweep from Friday through Saturday.
There were 17 arrests made during this time, several of which were made on possession of controlled substances, warrant charges, and driving while intoxicated.

ROAD CLOSED IN NEW MADRID COUNTY DUE TO FLOODING
A road is scheduled to close in New Madrid County due to flooding waters.
According to the Missouri Department of Transportation, a portion of Route 162 has been closed due to rising waters from the Mississippi River.

CHILDREN’S ENTERTAINMENT AND RESOURCE EVENT SCHEDULED IN POPLAR BLUFF
There is a children’s entertainment and resource event that has been scheduled for April in Poplar Bluff.
The “Silly Saturday” early childhood resource fair will feature entertainment, games, stories, arts and crafts, and more activities for children age zero through eight, and resource information will be available for parents.
The event is scheduled to be held at the Bess Activity Center at the Three Rivers College in Poplar Bluff on April 18th, from 10 am to 2 pm.
AUTHORITIES INVESTIGATING SUSPICIOUS DEATH IN RANDOLPH COUNTY
Officials with Randolph County are investigating the death of a Jonesboro man.
According to the Randolph County Sheriff’s Department, officials were dispatched to Highway 115, near Maynard, where Brandon Will was found passed out inside a vehicle.
Reports state that he was in a physical altercation, and later died of his injuries.
More information will become available as the investigation continues, and Will’s body has been sent for an autopsy to discover his cause of death.
MAN ARRESTED IN BUTLER COUNTY ON POSSESSION OF METHAMPHETAMINE
An area man was taken into custody in Butler County on Monday on possession of methamphetamine.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 36 year old Terry McCormick, of Poplar Bluff, was arrested on felony possession of a controlled substance – methamphetamine, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
He was transported to the Butler County Jail following his arrest.
DAY OF SERVICE SCHEDULED FOR THE END OF THE MONTH
A day of service has been scheduled in Poplar Bluff for February 29th.
The event will start with brunch at 10 am at the Rescue Mission on 400 South Broadway, followed by a brief program on the days scheduled events. Several services have been planned, and groups will be formed during the brunch to help with a number of projects.

A $5,000 reward has been placed for information that can lead to finding a missing man in Ripley County.
Chief Deputy Charlie Mays tells KWOC News that deputies with the Ripley County Sheriff’s Office have been searching for 38 year old Brandon Harris for over a week.
Harris is a white male with dark hair, and is likely unshaven. His vehicle was found at a local business on Saturday.

POLICE PRESENCE INCREASED FOLLOWING ATTEMPTED KIDNAPPING IN POPLAR BLUFF
The presence of police in south side Poplar Bluff has been upped after reports were made about an attempted kidnapping.
According to the Poplar Bluff Police Department, witness reports state that an unidentified man ran towards and attempted to take a 10 year old girl from a school stop on Tuesday, however the girl was able to get to safety at a neighbors house, who took her home.
Several additional marked and unmarked police vehicles were dispatched on Midland Street following the incident, with additional patrols moving before and after school hours.

INJURIES REPORTED FOLLOWING VEHICLE CRASH IN RIPLEY COUNTY
A driver was seriously injured in a vehicle crash that occurred in Ripley County on Friday.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol tells KWOC News that the crash occurred on County Road JJ-2, east of Doniphan, where a vehicle ran off the roadway, struck an embankment, and overturned.
The driver of the vehicle received serious injuries as a result of the crash, and was transported by air to a hospital in St. Louis.
MISSING NEW MADRID COUNTY MAN FOUND DEAD IN STODDARD COUNTY
The body of a New Madrid County man was found in Stoddard County on Saturday.
According to the New Madrid County Sheriff’s Department, the body of Gary Cagle Jr. was found in Stoddard County near a dirt road, after his vehicle was found in a ditch near Highway A in New Madrid, just a few miles east from his body.
An autopsy on his body has been scheduled for today at 10 am.
MULTIPLE ARRESTS MADE IN RIPLEY COUNTY ON DRUG POSSESSION CHARGES
There were multiple people taken into custody in Ripley County on Friday on possession of methamphetamine.
According to officials with the Ripley County Sheriff’s Department, 43 year old Kelly Hunter, 36 year old Derek Fox, 32 year old Christopher Peterson, and 30 year old Katie Ganzer, were all arrested on felony possession of a controlled substance – methamphetamine.
Hunter, Peterson, and Ganzer were additionally charged on unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.
They were all transported to the Ripley County Sheriff’s Office following their arrests.
POLICE DEPARTMENT LOOKING INTO COUNTERFEIT BILLS REPORTED IN KENNETT
The Kennett Police Department is looking into counterfeit bills that are circulating in the area.
According to the department, counterfeit $100 bills are being used in the city, as well as a few surrounding areas, and business owners as well as citizens are urged to be on the lookout.

WOMAN ARRESTED IN BUTLER COUNTY ON DRUG POSSESSION
A woman was taken into custody in Butler County on Friday on drug possession charges.
According to the Butler County Sheriff’s Department, 24 year old Kristin Thompson was arrested on felony possession charges of a controlled substance – one count methamphetamine and one count clonezepam, and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.
She was transported to the Butler County Jail following her arrest.

ILLNESS CAUSES CLOSURE OF SEVERAL REGIONAL SCHOOLS
Students in several Southeast Missouri schools will be missing class time due to illness.
According to the Schools’ Facebook pages, Bell City R-2, Neelyville R-4, Ripley County R-3, and Twin Rivers R-10, will all be closed today due to extensive illnesses.
The schools are set to resume classes as normal on Monday.

INJURIES REPORTED IN BUTLER COUNTY FOLLOWING VEHICLE CRASH
A vehicle crash was reported in Butler County on Thursday, resulting in the injury of an occupant.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash happened on Highway 53, 1 mile south of Poplar Bluff, where a vehicle ran off the right side of the roadway and struck a tree, causing it to overturn.
An occupant of the vehicle received minor injuries as a result of the crash, and was transported to a hospital in Poplar Bluff for treatment.
SIX MEN ARRESTED IN STODDARD COUNTY ON MULTIPLE VANDALISM CASES
Six men, three adults and three juvenile, have been taken into custody in Stoddard County in relation to several vandalism and property damage cases.
According to the Stoddard County Sheriff’s Department, 17 year olds Luke Moore and Ryan Turner, of Dexter, and Victor Turner, of Sikeston, have all been charged on unlawful use of a firearm charge, as well as multiple property damage charges, after shooting a 9 millimeter handgun at several vehicles and buildings.
They were all transported to the Stoddard County Jail following their arrests, and the three juveniles were transported to the Stoddard County Juvenile Detention Center.

ROADS CLOSED IN BUTLER AND NEW MADRID COUNTIES DUE TO FLOODING
Roads have been closed in Butler and New Madrid Counties due to flooding.
According to the Missouri Department of Transportation, north and south-bound lanes on Route N in Butler County, between road 243 and 236, have been closed.
Additionally, east and westbound lanes on Route P, from Route BB to County Road 727, as well as north and south-bound lanes on Route AB from WW to Donaldson Point CA in New Madrid, have been closed down as a result of the rising waters.

WOMAN ARRESTED IN DUNKLIN COUNTY ON MULTIPLE CHARGES
A woman was taken into custody in Dunklin County on Thursday on multiple charges.
Officials with the Missouri State Highway Patrol tells KWOC News that an arrest was made on 37 year old Ginger Blakney, of Harrison, on a felony charge on possession of a controlled substance – methamphetamine, possession of a controlled substance – Hydrocodone, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
She was also charged on a felony Taney County warrant on probation violation, a Harrison Police Department warrant on possession of a controlled substance, and possession of a controlled substance in a correctional facility.
Blakney was transported to the Dunklin County Jail following her arrest, on no bond.
ROADS SCHEDULED TO CLOSE IN NEW MADRID COUNTY
Two roads are scheduled to close in New Madrid County for construction.
According to the Missouri Department of Transportation, Route ZZ, near County Road 335, will be closed while crews replace a bridge over Little River. The work will take place from February 26th through May 10th.
Route D between Route 153 and County Road 531 will also be closing while a bridge is being constructed over a drainage ditch, with the work scheduled to take place from February 10th through June 12th.

WOMAN ARRESTED IN STODDARD COUNTY ON MULTIPLE CHARGES
A woman has been taken into custody in Stoddard County on Wednesday on multiple charges.
According to the Stoddard County Sheriff’s Department, 49 year old Robin Benfield, of Zalma, was arrested on a felony charge of driving while intoxicated resulting in physical injury, and leaving the scene of a crime. She was also charged with assault on law enforcement, and attempt to escape custody.
She was transported to the Stoddard County Jail following her arrest.

SERIOUS INJURY REPORTED FOLLOWING VEHICLE CRASH IN WAYNE COUNTY
A driver was seriously injured in a vehicle crash that occurred on Wednesday in Wayne County.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred on US Highway 67 at County Road 406, near Greenville, where a vehicle ran off the right side of the roadway, striking an embankment and causing the vehicle to become airborne, before it came to rest down a ravine.
The driver of the vehicle received serious injuries as a result of the crash, and was transported to a hospital in Poplar Bluff.
SUSPECT IDENTIFIED IN STORE ROBBERY IN PARAGOULD
A suspect has been identified in a robbery that occurred in Paragould on January 30th.
According to the Paragould Police Department, Wendell Hart Jr. was taken into custody in Jonesboro on an armed robbery charge after he reportedly robbed a man at gunpoint.
Hart will be taken into custody in Greene County on a warrant on an aggravated robbery charge when his charges in Jonesboro have been resolved.
JUVENILE TAKEN INTO CUSTODY IN MALDEN ON DRUG POSSESSION CHARGES
A Malden juvenile was taken into custody on Wednesday on drug possession charges.
According to the Malden Police Department, a 17 year old male was arrested on a charge of Possession of a Controlled Substance, and was transported to the Dunklin County Jail following his arrest.
He has a court date on the charge set for March 1st.
VEHICLE COLLISION IN STODDARD COUNTY LEADS TO SOME INJURIES
Injuries have been reported following a vehicle crash in Stoddard County on Wednesday.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol tells KWOC News that the crash occurred on Route C in Advance, where a vehicle crossed the center line and struck another vehicle.
An occupant of the crossing vehicle received minor injuries, and was transported to a hospital in Cape Girardeau.
NARCOTICS FOUND IN DUNKLIN COUNTY FOLLOWING SEARCH WARRANT
A number of narcotics have been found in Dunklin County after a search was performed.
According to the Dunklin County Sheriff’s Department, a search warrant was executed in the 300 block of South Jackson Street in Kennett, where officials discovered an undisclosed amount of narcotics and items of drug paraphernalia.
Jerry Kinnon, of Kennett, was taken into custody in relation to the narcotics, and was charged on two counts of delivery of a controlled substance.

A theft has been reported in Poplar Bluff by Southeast Mo. Search and Rescue.
According to the Poplar Bluff Police Department, the organization’s mobile command center had almost all of its equipment stolen from it, including multiple radios and radio equipment, laptops, first aid equipment, boxes of MRE, and more.
It is unknown at this time when, or how the theft took place.

SCAM CALLS ASKING FOR MONEY REPORTED IN DUNKLIN COUNTY
There have been several reports of scam calls in Dunklin County.
According to the Dunklin County Sheriff’s Department, the caller will state that there is a warrant out for the arrest of the recipient of the person being called, and will ask for money to keep them from being incarcerated.
The number has been modified to make it look like it is coming from the Dunklin County Sheriff’s Office, however the department has stated that it will not call individuals on warrants, and anyone receiving such a call should hang up immediately.

MULTI-VEHICLE CRASH IN BUTLER COUNTY LEADS TO INJURIES
Injuries have been reported following a vehicle collision in Butler County on Tuesday.
Officials with the Butler County Sheriff’s Department report that the crash occurred on Route B, 3 miles east of Poplar Bluff, where a vehicle failed to yield and struck another vehicle in the rear, which caused the struck vehicle to run into the vehicle in front of it.
The driver of the initially struck vehicle received minor injuries from the collisions, and was transported to a hospital in Poplar Bluff for treatment.
THREE RIVERS COLLEGE HOSTING JAZZ FESTIVAL NEXT WEEK
There will be an annual jazz festival being held at the Three Rivers Community College next week.
The Patrons of the Arts will be presenting a performance by Jubilation Jazz, a group of musicians who use music to share gospel, as well as performances by junior high and high school bands from several other schools. TRAILER FIRE REPORTED IN DUNKLIN COUNTY NEAR CAMPBELL
A trailer fire was reported in Dunklin County near Campbell on Monday.
According to the Campbell Fire Department, the fire was reported early morning on a roadway about 3 miles north of Campbell. Both lanes of traffic were closed while crews attempted to get the flames under control.
The cause of the fire has yet to be determined, and is currently under investigation.

A road is scheduled to be closed in New Madrid County next week so crews can begin a construction project.
According to the Missouri Department of Transportation, a section of Route D in New Madrid, between Route 153 and County Road 531, will be closed while MoDOT crews construct a new bridge over a drainage ditch.
The work is scheduled to begin on February 10th, and will end on June 12th.

SUSPECT WANTED IN SHOOTING INCIDENT IN BUTLER COUNTY
An armed and dangerous suspect in a shooting in the Neelyville area is still being searched for.
According to Butler County Sheriff Mark Dobbs, 21 year old Deshawn Bell allegedly shot 47 year old Keith Whitehead, of Neelyville, in the back, inflicting life threatening injuries.
Deshawn is currently being searched for by the Sheriff’s Department in Neelyville, and has been charged on a felony charge of first-degree assault, armed criminal action, and unlawful possession of a firearm.

PUBLIC HEARING SCHEDULED FOR EARLY APRIL IN RIPLEY COUNTY
There is a public hearing scheduled to be held in Ripley County in April.
The hearing will discuss Ripley County’s Five-Year and Annual Plans, and will be held on April 1st at 10 am at the Ozark Foothills Regional Planning Commission office on 3019 Fair Street in Poplar Bluff.

THREE RIVERS ENDOWMENT TRUST SCHEDULED TO HOLD TRIVIA NIGHT
The Three Rivers Community College will be holding their annual Trivia Night Fundraiser later this month.
The proceeds gained from the fundraiser go towards benefiting scholarships for students of TRCC, and includes a dinner and cash bar, along with the trivia competition itself.
Tables for the event will be $120, begins at 5 pm, and will be held at the Holiday Inn in Poplar Bluff on February 27th.

MAN ARRESTED IN NEW MADRID ON DRUG AND FIREARM CHARGES
A man was taken into custody in New Madrid on drug and firearm charges on Sunday.
According to officials with the New Madrid Sheriff’s Department, 63 year old Daniel Coleman, of Berkeley, was arrested on felony possession of a controlled substance – 9 pills of Tramadol, as well as unlawful use of a firearm.
He was additionally charged on unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.
Coleman was transported to the New Madrid County Jail following his arrest.
TWO DEATHS REPORTED IN NEW MADRID FOLLOWING VEHICLE CRASH
Two men have died as a result of a vehicle crash out of New Madrid County on Sunday.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol tells KWOC News that the crash occurred at US 61 at the northern city limits of Marston, where a vehicle ran off the right side of the roadway and struck an embankment, causing the vehicle to overturn and ejecting both men.
An occupant of the vehicle, 59 year old Edward Graham, of Cape Girardeau, and the driver of the vehicle, 49 year old Major Reed, of Risco, both died from injuries they received as a result of the crash, and were pronounced dead at the scene.
MULTIPLE AREA MEN ARRESTED IN BUTLER COUNTY ON METHAMPHETAMINE POSSESSION
Three Poplar Bluff residents were taken into custody over the weekend in Butler County.
The Butler County Sheriff’s Department tells KWOC News that the first arrest was made on Friday, where 37 year old Daniel Withers was arrested on felony possession of a controlled substance – methamphetamine.
The next arrest was made on Sunday, where 48 year old John Storey was arrested on possession of methamphetamine, as well as a probation violation warrant on amphetamine possession.
The final arrest also occurred on Sunday, with 51 year old Jason Freeman being arrested on possession of methamphetamine, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
They were all transported to the Butler County Jail following their arrests.
VIDEO FOOTAGE FOUND ON SUSPECT IN ARMED ROBBERY IN PARAGOULD
Video footage has been found on the suspect in a recent armed robbery out of a Paragould store.
According to the Paragould Police Department, officials received a call from the Flash Market store on Kings Highway, where a man entered the store and revealed a firearm, demanding money from the cashier. After receiving the money, the man left the store and fled the scene.
The footage found recorded him leaving in a 94 to 2001 Dodge Ram extended cab pickup truck, traveling eastbound on Highway 412.
He has been described as a heavyset white male, with a height of around 5’4 to 5’6. The suspect was wearing work boots, a camouflage coat, and a red had, and has reddish brown hair with a beard and mustache.

MAN FACING CHARGES IN RELATION TO DEATH INVESTIGATION IN STODDARD COUNTY

According to the Stoddard County Sheriff’s Department, 41 year old Joshua Herron, of Advance, is facing a charge on tampering with physical evidence, and two juveniles were also taken into custody.
The investigation began when 61 year old Robert Harwood was found dead in a home on Duckett Street in Advance, and an autopsy was performed on his body, though the reports have not yet been made public.
Herron was transported to the Stoddard County Jail on his charges, and was set on a $25,000 bond.

2020 AG EXPO TO BEGIN TODAY IN POPLAR BLUFF
Ag Expo 2020 is set to begin today in Poplar Bluff.
Ag Expo will be held both today and Saturday at the Black River Coliseum. There will be over 100 vendors on display relating to all aspects of agriculture and natural resources in Southeast Missouri and Northeast Arkansas.
Additional events will include the beauty pageant, FFA tractor driving contest, petting farm, old time auction, and milking contest.

A road in Stoddard County is scheduled to be reduced starting next week.
According to the Missouri Department of Transportation, a section of roadway on Route 25 in Stoddard County, between Route C in Advance and Route Z in Bernie, will be reduced while crews perform guardrail upgrades.

AREA WOMAN INJURED FOLLOWING VEHICLE CRASH IN BUTLER COUNTY
A Poplar Bluff woman was injured following a vehicle crash in Butler County on Wednesday.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred on County Road 452, north of Poplar Bluff, where a vehicle failed to negotiate a curve and struck a tree.
The driver of the vehicle received minor injuries as a result of the crash, and was transported to a hospital in Poplar Bluff.

SCAM TEXT MESSAGES REPORTED IN CARTER AND BUTLER COUNTY
There have been a series of scam text messages reported in Carter and Butler County.
According to the Carter County Sheriff’s Department, numerous people throughout Carter County have been receiving multiple text messages from unknown emails and numbers, with questionable content.
An example of the scam involves being added to a group of about 20 people with numbers starting with “573-300”, which include one or two email addresses.
If you receive any of these text messages, you are recommended to not respond to or open the links provided in the messages, and to talk to your family and friends to ensure that they know not to access the texts.
PUBLIC HEARING SCHEDULED TO BE HELD IN RIPLEY COUNTY

LOCAL MAN ARRESTED IN STODDARD COUNTY ON MULTIPLE CHARGES
A Poplar Bluff man was taken into custody on Tuesday on multiple warrant charges.
According to officials with the Poplar Bluff Police Department, 19 year old Cody Marks, of Poplar Bluff, was arrested on a felony Butler County warrant on unlawful use of a weapon, and one felony warrant out of Dunklin County for resisting arrest.
He was also charged with a misdemeanor on possession of marijuana.
Marks was transported to the Stoddard County Jail following his arrest.
STATE PROPERTY DAMAGE AND INJURIES CAUSED BY VEHICLE CRASH OUT OF NEW MADRID
A vehicle collision in New Madrid on Tuesday has caused injuries and state property damage.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol tells KWOC News that the crash occurred on Route W near Kewanee, where a vehicle traveled off the left side of the roadway, hitting and damaging the railing of a bridge.
The driver of the vehicle received moderate injuries as a result of the crash, and was transported to a hospital in Cape Girardeau.

Injuries have been reported following a vehicle crash in Stoddard County on Tuesday.

According to the Poplar Bluff Police Department, officers responded to a call out of Warren Street for a male who was shooting a firearm while walking through the street.
24 year old Roderick Russell was taken into custody after he was found alongside a 12 gauge shotgun that he admitted to fire off in the streets, and faces charged on suspicion of unlawful use of a weapon.
He also faces several other failure to appear warrants on trespassing, shoplifting, property damage, resisting arrest, and two counts of possession of marijuana.

DRIVER EXAMINATION STATIONS SCHEDULED TO CLOSE
Driver examination stations throughout Missouri are scheduled for closing.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol tells KWOC News that the stations will close on February 12th for Lincoln’s Birthday, and again on February 17th for Washington’s Birthday. The stations will resume operations on the 13th and 18th respectively.

WOMAN ARRESTED IN CARTER COUNTY ON DRUG POSSESSION
A woman was taken into custody out of Carter County on Monday for drug possession charges.
According to the Carter County Sheriff’s Department, 33 year old Amber Sappington was arrested after a traffic stop led to the discovery of over 11 grams of suspected crystal methamphetamine, 60 grams of liquid meth, a THC dab, and drug paraphernalia.
A handgun was additionally found inside the vehicle.
Sappington was charged on suspicion of possession of a controlled substance and unlawful use of a drug paraphernalia, and was transferred to the Shannon County Jail following her arrest.

A Malden resident was taken into custody on Friday on drug and firearm charges.
According to the Dunklin County Sheriff’s Department, Nikylus Thompson, of Malden, was arrested on a felony warrant for possession of a firearm, two counts of possession of a controlled substance, and unlawful use of a weapon.
Thompson was transported to the Dunklin County Jail following the arrest on a $25,000 cash only bond.
SERIOUS INJURIES REPORTED FOLLOWING VEHICLE COLLISION IN PEMISCOT COUNTY
Serious injuries were reported on Saturday following a vehicle collision in Pemiscot County.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol tells KWOC News that the incident occurred on US 61 at Route O near Holland, where a vehicle failed to yield, causing an oncoming vehicle to crash into its left side.
The driver and an occupant of the first vehicle received serious injuries as a result of the crash, and was transported by air to a hospital in Memphis.
EARTHQUAKES REPORTED OVER THE WEEKEND
Two earthquakes were reported in Wayne and New Madrid Counties on Sunday.
According to the US Geological Survey, the first earthquake struck 3 miles east of Marston in New Madrid County, and registered at a magnitude of 2.0 with a depth of around 4 miles.
The second quake hit a few hours later about 7 miles east of Greenville in Wayne County, and registered at a 2.3 magnitude, just over a mile in depth.

A man was taken into custody in Butler County on Thursday on multiple charges.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 39 year old Charlie Highfill, of Qulin, was arrested on a felony charge of resisting arrest, as well as multiple Butler County warrants.
The warrants include charges on possession of amphetamine, larceny, and failure to appear.

SENTENCING SET FOR LOCAL WOMAN ON DRUG DISTRIBUTION CHARGES
A Poplar Bluff woman faces up to 20 years in federal prison on drug distribution charges.
The Poplar Bluff Police Department tells KWOC News that Amber Wrinkle, of Poplar Bluff, has been charged on distribution of heroin and Fentanyl after pleading guilty to the charges in federal court on Tuesday.
Her sentencing has been set for April 21st, at 11:40 am.
PARAGOULD POLICE ASKING FOR ASSISTANCE IN RECENT SHOOTING
Police in Paragould are asking for information into a shooting that occurred on Wednesday.
According to the Paragould Police Department, there was a shooting reported on Wednesday on South 13th Avenue, where a residence and vehicle were struck by gunfire. The department is asking anyone who lives in the area to review any footage you have on security cameras in attempt to find the suspect.

A court case has been scheduled for a Poplar Bluff man on possession of firearm charges.
According to the Poplar Bluff Police Department, David Berry, a convicted felon from a previous burglary charge in 2015, has been issued a court case for April 24th after he pled guilty to illegal possession of firearm charges after he was pulled over for failing to signal a turn.
Methamphetamine and drug paraphernalia was also found on his person.
Berry faces up to 10 years in prison on these charges, as well as up to three years of supervised release.

Injuries were reported following a vehicle crash in Stoddard County on Wednesday.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred on Missouri 25, south of Advance, where a vehicle travelled off the left side of the roadway before striking an embankment.
The driver of the vehicle received minor injuries as a result of the crash, and was transported to a hospital in Dexter.
CITY OF DONIPHAN TO HOLD CITY WIDE YARD SALE
The City of Doniphan will be holding a city wide yard sale in April.
Along with the sales themselves, there will also be food venders, crafts, and baked goods set around the city grounds. The event will begin on April 4th, from 8 am to 2 pm.

BUILDING COLLAPSES FOLLOWING VEHICLE CRASH IN DUNKLIN COUNTY
A building received extensive damage on Wednesday after it partially collapsed from a vehicle crashing into it.
According to the Kennett Fire Department, a vehicle crashed into the Tower Loan building on 601 1st Street, causing the building to partially collapse and trapping an individual inside the car.
The occupant was extracted from the vehicle safely, and parts of First Street from Anthony to Hopper, as well as South Anthony to Second Street, will be closed due to the collapse.
MAN ARRESTED IN WAYNE COUNTY ON DRUG AND FIREARM CHARGES
A man was arrested in Wayne County on Wednesday on firearm and drug possession charges.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol tells KWOC News that 40 year old Jason Osborn, of Greenville, was taken into custody on felony charges on unlawful possession of a firearm, and possession of a controlled substance – methamphetamine.
He was also charged with possession of drug paraphernalia.
Osborn was transported to the Wayne County Jail following his arrest.
ROAD IN PEMISCOT COUNTY REDUCING DUE TO BRIDGE MAINTENANCE
A road in Pemiscot County is scheduled to be reduced for maintenance.
According to the Missouri Department of Transportation, Northbound I-55 in Pemiscot County will be reduced to a 12-foot width restriction while MoDOT crews perform bridge maintenance.
The work is scheduled to take place on February 3rd through 5th, from 7 am to 4 pm each day.

A Winter Watch event has been scheduled for a memorial center in Wayne County.

MAN ARRESTED IN RIPLEY COUNTY ON POSSESSION OF METHAMPHETAMINE
A man was taken into custody in Ripley County on Tuesday for possession of methamphetamine.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 43 year old Virgil Patterson, of Doniphan, was arrested on felony possession of a controlled substance – methamphetamine, and possession of drug paraphernalia.
He was transported to the Ripley County Sheriff’s Office following his arrest.
PUBLIC HEARING SCHEDULED FOR NEXT WEEK IN WAYNE COUNTY
A public hearing has been scheduled for next week in Wayne County.
According to the Ozark Foothills Regional Planning Commission, the city of Piedmont will be holding the hearing to discuss the city’s submission of an application for the 2020 MDNR Recreational Trails Program grant cycle, as well as a proposition by the city to build an extension of the city’s trail system.

JAZZ FESTIVAL PLANNED FOR THREE RIVERS COLLEGE IN FEBRUARY
There will be an annual jazz festival being held at the Three Rivers Community College next month.
The Patrons of the Arts will be presenting a performance by Jubilation Jazz, a group of musicians who use music to share gospel, as well as performances by junior high and high school bands from several other schools.
Tickets are available for purchase online at TRCC.Edu for $15, and the performance will be held at the campus’ Tinnin Fine Arts Center on February 14th, at 7 pm.

WOMAN ARRESTED IN STODDARD COUNTY ON DRUG POSSESSION CHARGES
A woman was taken into custody in Stoddard County on Tuesday on drug possession charges.
According to the Stoddard County Sheriff’s Department, 29 year old Nathalie Fuchs, of Dexter, was booked on a warrant for possession of a controlled substance, and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.
She was transported to the Stoddard County Jail following her arrest, on a $12,500 cash only bond.
STRUCTURE DESTROYED BY FIRE IN PORTAGEVILLE
A structure was destroyed in a fire in Portageville on Tuesday.
According to the Portageville Rural Fire Department, a structure fire was reported behind a residence in Hayward on State Highway T, where a shed had been completely engulfed in flame by the time crews had arrived at the scene.
The fire was started by the residents who were burning trash when the flames caught fire to the building, and no injuries were reported.
ROAD SCHEDULED TO CLOSE IN RIPLEY COUNTY FOR REPAIRS
A road is scheduled to close in Ripley County today for repairs.
According to the Missouri Department of Transportation, Route A in Ripley County will be closed while MoDOT crews replace a pipe underneath the roadway. The work is scheduled for today from 8 am to 2 pm.

SHOOTING SUSPECT ARRESTED FOLLOWING PURSUIT
Updating a story we brought to you previously, a suspect in a shooting that occurred last week has been taken into custody after a police pursuit.
According to the Butler County Sheriff’s Department, 26 year old Walter Currie Jr. was arrested on Monday after officials spotted his vehicle and recognized the driver to be Currie, causing a pursuit to begin.
After a lengthy vehicle pursuit, Currie left his vehicle at Harper Street before jumping a fence, causing officers to begin chasing him on foot.
He was located at his girlfriend’s home at Bradley Street, where he was arrested on the charges of first-degree assault, unlawful use of a weapon, armed criminal action, and unlawful possession of a firearm.
He was transported to the Butler County Jail following his arrest.

SCAM CALLS REPORTED INSIDE OF RANDOLPH COUNTY
Scam calls have been reported by the Randolph County Sheriff’s department.
According to the department, the calls are from individuals who are claiming to be the sheriff’s department, and ask their callers for their personal information, such as social security numbers.
The Sheriff’s Department reminds residents that the department never calls and asks for personal information, and if you receive such a call to hang up and report the call to the sheriff’s office at 870-892-8888.
SUSPECT ARRESTED FOLLOWING MULTIPLE INVESTIGATIONS
A previously armed and dangerous suspect has been taken into custody.
According to the Poplar Bluff Police Department, 30 year old Bernard Gales Jr. was arrested on Sunday without incident in the 100 block of South 8th Street.
Gales was being searched for by the department as a suspect in several assault related investigations, and he had an active warrant out for his arrest.
He has been charged with 2nd degree assault, armed criminal action, and unlawful use of a weapon as a result from the investigations by the department and the Butler County Prosecutor.
MAN ARRESTED IN PEMISCOT COUNTY IN SHOOTING INCIDENT
A man was taken into custody in Pemiscot County on Sunday following a shooting incident.
According to officials with the Steele Police Department, 70 year old Phillip Lineberry, of Steele, was arrested on an assault charge after a neighbor of Lineberry reported that he had pointed a gun at him, and fired at him.
Soon after reporting to the scene, offers located both Lineberry and the firearm he used to shoot with.

A Poplar Bluff man was taken into custody in Stoddard County on Monday for possessing methamphetamine.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 39 year old Thomas Stucker, of Poplar Bluff, was arrested on felony possession of a controlled substance – methamphetamine, as well as possession of drug paraphernalia, and tampering with physical evidence.

MULTIPLE INJURIES REPORTED FROM TWO VEHICLE CRASH IN BUTLER COUNTY
Multiple injuries were reported on Sunday following a two vehicle crash in Butler County.

They were all transported to a Poplar Bluff hospital for their injuries.

TWO SENTENCED FOR POSSESSION OF FIREARMS STOLEN FROM MULTIPLE COUNTIES
Two suspects were taken into custody on Thursday on possession of stolen firearm charges that were stolen from residences in Ripley County.
According to the Ripley County Sheriff’s Department, Kyle King and Sandy Edwards, of Alton, were sentenced after pleading guilty to the firearm possession charges, with 11 of the 20 reported burglaries being reported inside of Ripley County.
King was sentenced to two years in federal prison, and Edwards was placed on a three year probation period.
MALDEN MAN CONVICTED OF BURGLARY AFTER RESISTING ARREST
A Malden man was convicted of attempted burglary on Friday by a Dunklin County Jury after attempting to break into a house while resisting arrest.
According to the Dunklin County Sheriff’s Department, 36 year old Xavier Ray, of Malden, was charged with first-degree attempted burglary after trying to break into a house to escape from officials who were attempting to arrest him on outstanding warrants.
His warrants include felony charges of unlawfully receiving public assistance benefits, delivery of a controlled substance, and receiving stolen property.
Ray’s sentencing has been set for March 11th at 10 am.
LOCAL WOMAN ARRESTED ON DRUG POSSESSION CHARGE
A Poplar Bluff woman was taken into custody on Friday on a drug possession charge.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 23 year old Vanessa Powell, of Poplar Bluff, was arrested on felony possession of a controlled substance – methamphetamine, as well as possession of drug paraphernalia.
She was transported to the Butler County Jail following her arrest.
MAN ARRESTED IN DUNKLIN COUNTY ON METHAMPHETAMINE POSSESSION
A man was taken into custody in Dunklin County on Saturday on possession of methamphetamine.

TWO PUBLIC HEARINGS SCHEDULED FOR SEVERAL COUNTIES
There will be two public hearings in several Counties towards the end of the month.
The first hearing will be discussing the FY2020 Draft Action Plan, which will cover HUD programs administered by the state, such as Community Development Blocks, Housing Trust Funds, Continuum of Care, and several other topics. The hearing is scheduled for January 29th, at 1111 West Pine Street in Poplar Bluff from 10 am to noon.
The second hearing will focus on the CDBG-Mitigation funds, which is used to implement local projects regarding infrastructure, as well as reducing future damage from flood prone areas. The hearings are scheduled for January 28th at 1401 Main Street at the Van Buren City Hall in Carter County from 10 am to noon, and at 105 Washington at the Doniphan Community Center in Ripley County from 6 to 8 pm.
WILDLIFE REFUGE AND CREEK SCHEDULED TO CLOSE FOR HOG HUNTING
A wildlife refuge and conservation area is scheduled to close next week for a hog hunting period.
The Mingo National Wildlife Refuge and Duck Creek Conservation Area in Puxico are scheduled to close for a feral hog eradication period, in an attempt to lower their numbers in the refuge.
The two locals are scheduled to be closed from January 20th through 25th however the visitor center on Highway 51 will remain open during this time.
FOUR SUSPECTS TAKEN INTO CUSTODY IN CONNECTION WITH MURDER CASE
Four individuals have been taken into custody in Greene County on Thursday in relation to a murder charge.
According to Greene County Sheriff Steve Franks, 41 year old Daniel Mangrum, 39 year old Ashley Hamilton, 34 year old Brittany Goodman, and 33 year old Benjamin Davis, have been arrested on charges related to the murder of 33 year old Michael Nix in Greene County, who was found dead in his home.
Mangrum and Davis were charged on suspicion of first-degree murder with no bond, and Goodman and Hamilton were arrested on suspicion of hindering apprehension in the case on a $100,000 cash only bond.
APPLICATIONS FOR SPRING MANAGED TURKEY HUNTS STARTING IN FEBRUARY
Missouri conservation officials say that applications will be available soon for spring managed turkey hunts.
According to the Missouri Department of Conservation, Missouri youth, archery, and firearms turkey hunters can apply online for the managed hunts beginning on February 1st through the MDC website at mdc.mo.gov/SpringTurkeyHunts.
Managed hunt details and application procedures are outlined on that webpage. Drawing results will be posted starting March 12th.
Spring turkey hunting youth weekend will be April 4th and 5th with the regular spring season running April 20 through May 10. Officials say permits will be available starting March 1.
FAFSA FRENZY SCHEDULED FOR POPLAR BLUFF HIGH SCHOOL STARTING NEXT WEEK
There are a few FAFSA frenzies coming to the Poplar Bluff Highschool starting next week.
The FAFSA Frenzy event is held to assist students and their parents with the Free Application for Federal Student Aid, as well as some scholarship options available for application.
The first of the school’s frenzies will be held on January 23rd from 3 to 7pm, and two more are scheduled on January 26th from 2 through 6 pm, and January 28th from 3 through 7 pm.

CAUSE OF DEATH IDENTIFIED FOR BUTLER COUNTY HEALTH DEPARTMENT ADMINISTRATOR
Updating a story we brought to you yesterday, the cause of death for Robert Hudson, the Butler County Health Department’s Administrator, has been determined.
According to Butler County Coroner Andy Moore, Hudson died from carbon monoxide poisoning while working on his vehicle inside of a closed garage. This was confirmed after an autopsy was performed on his body on Wednesday.
Officials state that this incident is a tragic accident, and that there is no other reason to believe it was anything else.
CARUTHERSVILLE WOMAN CONTINUES TO BE MISSING
The Caruthersville Police Department is asking the public to assist in the search of a still missing Caruthersville woman.
The missing person is 36 year old Michele Bell, who was reported to have a mental breakdown before leaving the city of Caruthersville on December 8th. She is 5’4, 105 pounds with blonde hair and green eyes, and was wearing a pink shirt and leggings when she left the city. A reward was issued in December for her safe return.
Her vehicle was reported being found near Joiner, Arkansas on December 9th, on the exit ramp of Interstate 55.

DRIVER RECEIVED SERIOUS INJURIES FOLLOWING VEHICLE COLLISION IN PEMISCOT COUNTY
A driver was seriously injured following a vehicle collision in Pemiscot County on Wednesday.
The Missouri State Highway Patrol tells KWOC News that the incident occurred on Missouri 84, west of Hayti, where two vehicles were traveling Eastbound, and one vehicle struck the other in the rear.
The driver of the struck vehicle received serious injuries as a result of the collision, and was transported to a hospital in Hayti.

A man was arrested in Poplar Bluff on Tuesday following reports of a shooting.
According to Lieutenant Keith Hefner with the Poplar Bluff Police Department, officers responded to a call of shots fired on North Main Street, where a subject was reportedly shot.
When officers arrived at the scene, they located a Poplar Bluff resident in his 40’s who had been shot in the head. Emergency services transported the victim to a Poplar Bluff hospital for treatment.
Officers apprehended and arrested 22 year old Kayln Johnson without incident, who was found with the weapon that investigators believed to have been used in the shooting.

INJURIES REPORTED FOLLOWING VEHICLE CRASH IN STODDARD COUNTY

The 17 year old driver of the vehicle received minor injuries, and was transported to a hospital in Poplar Bluff, while a 16 year old occupant of the vehicle received moderate injuries, and was transported to a hospital in Cape Girardeau.
BUTLER COUNTY HEALTH DEPARTMENT ADMINISTRATOR PASSES AWAY TUESDAY MORNING
The Butler County Health Department’s Administrator has passed away as of Tuesday morning.
Butler County Coroner Andy Moore tells KWOC News that Robert Hudson, the County’s Health Department Administrator, passed away early Tuesday morning, with an autopsy scheduled for today.

MAN AWAITING HEARING ON MURDER CHARGE IN GREENE COUNTY
A man is currently waiting for bond hearing on a murder charge in Greene County.
According to the Greene County Sheriff’s Department, 54 year old Kevin Brady, of Jonesboro, was arrested facing a first-degree murder charge after authorities answered a call on Monday about a suspected murder, where officials found the body of 33 year old Michael Nix.
His body was sent to a crime lab to determine his cause of death, and more information will be available as the investigation proceeds.
MAN ARRESTED IN BUTLER COUNTY ON DRUG POSSESSION CHARGES
A man was taken into custody in Butler County on Tuesday on drug possession charges.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 51 year old Peter Bennett, of Neelyville, was arrested on felony possession of a controlled substance – methamphetamine, and unlawful use of drug paraphernalia.
He was additionally charged with two felony Butler County warrants, and a Poplar Bluff Police Department misdemeanor warrant.
Bennett was transported to the Butler County Jail following his arrest.
MULTIPLE EARTHQUAKES REPORTED IN NEW MADRID AND PEMISCOT COUNTIES
Multiple earthquakes were reported over the last few days in New Madrid and Pemiscot Counties.
According to the US Geological Survey, the first earthquake struck on Monday near Marston, and registered at a magnitude of 1.7. The second quake also registered at 1.7 magnitude, and was located east of Hayward.
The final quake was recorded near Marston, at a magnitude of 2.3 and a depth of around 3 miles.
