TRAFFIC SHIFT UNDERWAY ON US HIGHWAY 67 IN BUTLER COUNTY
The traffic shift for US Route 67 in Butler County is underway.
The Missouri Department of Transportation says there will be new traffic patterns along U.S. Route 67 between U.S. 160 and Route MM in Butler County.
During the transition, construction crews will shift traffic from the existing U.S. 67 roadway to the newly constructed four-lane facility.
To minimize the duration of impacts, construction crews are working continuously to complete the transition within an anticipated 36-hour period.
Officials say that the shift began Tuesday evening.
MOBILITY IMPAIRED MODERN GUN DEER HUNT TO BE CONDUCTED IN OCTOBER AT WAPPAPELLO LAKE
The US Army Corps of Engineers will be conducting a mobility impaired modern gun deer hunt in October at Wappapello Lake.
Corps officials tell KWOC News that the hunt will be conducted on October 17th and 18th at four locations spread across the Wappapello Lake project. All areas will be properly signed to warn anyone walking a trail or accessing areas from parking lots.
During the hunt, multiple areas will be closed, including the Archery Range, Corps Road 33 at Wetfork, the Johnson Tract Trail, and below the dam area.

WALKING TOURS TO BE HELD IN OCTOBER FOR HISTORIC LOCATIONS IN DOWNTOWN POPLAR BLUFF
Multiple local organizations will be hosting walking tours of historic locations in Downtown Poplar Bluff next month.
Poplar Bluff Parks and Recreation, the Community Resource Council of Butler County, and the Poplar Bluff Museum are putting on the Walking Tour Series every Saturday in October.
Every tour will begin at 10:30 am, except for the tour of Sacred Heart Cemetery on October 10th which will begin at 3 pm.
Those three organizations are also teaming up to host the month-long Walk-Tober walking competition during October. Participants should track their walking miles throughout the month.

KIWANIS FALL CLASSIC GOLF TOURNAMENT SET FOR OCTOBER 2ND
The Kiwanis Fall Classic golf tournament has been scheduled for this fall.
The four person scramble tournament will be held on Friday, October 2nd at Ozark Ridge Golf Course in Poplar Bluff. Registration will begin at 10 am, with tee-off set for 11 am.
Organizers say the entry fee is $560 per team, which includes a hole sponsorship.
All proceeds will go to benefit Kiwanis Bacon Park.

DEXTER CEMETERY ANNUAL FALL FLOWER REMOVAL SET FOR OCTOBER 1ST
Dexter residents are being reminded to remove their flowers from the Dexter Cemetery by the end of the month.
City officials say that in preparation for fall, the Dexter Street Department will begin their annual Fall Flower Removal at the cemetery beginning on October 1st.
Anyone who does not want their flowers to be discarded should have them removed by that date.
GREAT CENTRAL U.S. SHAKEOUT SCHEDULED FOR OCTOBER 15TH
Millions of people all across the central United States will be participating in the Great Central U.S. Shakeout Earthquake Drill next month.
The drill is scheduled for 10:15 am on Thursday, October 15th and officials say the goal is to get everyone prepared for a possible major earthquake.
