IDENTITY RELEASED OF BODY FOUND OVER THE WEEKEND IN THE QULIN AREA

Officials have released the identity of a body that was found over the weekend in Butler County.

Butler County Sheriff Mark Dobbs tells KWOC News that the body was discovered Saturday afternoon on County Road 659 in Qulin.

According to Butler County Coroner Jim Akers, the body has been identified as Tevon Youngblood-Miller.

Akers added that an autopsy was performed on Monday and the results are still pending.

SUNDAY AFTERNOON CRASH LEAVES ONE PERSON DEAD IN MISSOURI BOOTHEEL

One person has died following a two vehicle crash over the weekend in the Missouri Bootheel.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a 70 year old Hayti Heights woman was driving on Interstate 55 in Pemiscot County when her vehicle collided with another vehicle.

The woman’s vehicle then ran off the side of the roadway and overturned.

She was pronounced dead at the scene by Pemiscot County Coroner Bryan Irions at around 4 pm Sunday.

WOMAN WINS $50,000 FROM SCRATCHERS TICKET PURCHASED IN NEELYVILLE

A woman is $50,000 richer thanks to a scratchers ticket she purchased in Butler County.

According to the Missouri Lottery, the winner said the clerk at a Neelyville business gave her a big hug when she showed her that she had won $50,000 from a “$250 Million Extravaganza” ticket.

Lottery officials say that players in Butler County won more than $8 million in Missouri Lottery prizes during fiscal year 2025.

DEADLINE TO REGISTER TO VOTE FOR UPCOMING PRIMARY ELECTION IN MISSOURI IS JULY 8TH

The deadline is approaching to make sure you are registered to vote in Missouri for the upcoming election.

According to the Missouri Secretary of State’s Office, the last day to register to vote in Missouri for the primary election is July 8th.

The primary election is scheduled for Tuesday, August 4th.

POSSIBLE TORNADOES REPORTED SUNDAY IN SHANNON COUNTY

Possible tornadoes were reported Sunday in Shannon County.

According to Shannon County Sheriff Steven Hogan, numerous large trees were blown across Route H after a possible tornado crossed the highway.

Sheriff Hogan says that an area citizen also reported seeing two tornadoes in the Rocky Falls Area. The report also said that a structure had been blown away on Route NN.

No injuries have been reported.

CULVERT REPLACEMENT TO FORCE CLOSURE OF WAYNE COUNTY ROAD TODAY

Route Z in Wayne County will be closed today so Missouri Department of Transportation crews can replace a culvert under the roadway.

The work zone will be located between County Roads 516 and 524.

Weather permitting, work will take place today from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
