HANNAH HARPER TO PERFORM IN AMERICAN IDOL GRAND FINAL TONIGHT
Southeast Missouri native Hannah Harper will be performing in the American Idol Grand Final tonight.
Harper secured her spot in the final last week after performances of “Fever” by Peggy Lee and a duet of Martina McBride’s “Broken Wing” with Idol alumni Kellie Pickler.
Harper is joined by Keyla Richardson and Jordan McCullough in the top three.

CREWS RESPOND TO FIRE AT ABANDONED POPLAR BLUFF APARTMENT COMPLEX
Emergency crews responded to a fire Friday at an abandoned Poplar Bluff apartment building.
According to Poplar Bluff Police Chief J.R. Keirsey, the fire was located at the Vancil Apartment Building on Main Street.
Numerous crews were on scene for several hours Friday to help fight the blaze.
No injuries have been reported and officials say that a cause for the fire is being investigated by the state Fire Marshall’s Office.
DONIPHAN MAN ARRESTED IN CONNECTION TO AREA SHOOTING
Authorities in Ripley County have arrested a Doniphan man in connection to a shooting.
According to Chief Deputy David Sutton with the Ripley County Sheriff’s Office, officers responded to a report of a shooting on Thursday and found an adult male suffering from a single gunshot wound to the head.
The victim was transported by air evac for medical treatment. The condition of the victim was not released.
49 year old Ronnie Brawner, of Doniphan, has been taken into custody in connection to the incident.
He is facing charges of assault 1st degree, armed criminal action, unlawful use of a weapon, and trespassing 1st degree. Brawner has been lodged in the Ripley County Jail.
ONE KILLED, TWO INJURED, IN STODDARD COUNTY CRASH
An early Saturday morning crash in Stoddard County resulted in the death of a Texas man.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a 28 year old man from Nacogdoches, Texas was driving on US Highway 60, near Morehouse, when his vehicle struck the rear of another vehicle.
The crash occurred shortly before 5 am Saturday morning.
The man was pronounced dead at the scene by Stoddard County Coroner Brent Stidham. A passenger in his vehicle suffered serious injuries and was flown to a Memphis hospital.
The driver of the second vehicle received minor injuries.
NORTHEAST ARKANSAS MAN KILLED IN TWO VEHICLE COLLISION
Authorities in Northeast Arkansas say that an area man has died from injuries he received in a crash on Friday.
According to the Arkansas State Police, 25 year old Richard Futrell Jr., of Piggott, was driving on State Highway 119 in Clay County when he failed to slow down and struck the side of a trailer that was turning in front of him.
Officials say that Futrell was killed in the collision.
No injuries were listed for the driver of the second vehicle.
BRIDGE MAINTENANCE SCHEDULED FOR THIS WEEK IN NEW MADRID COUNTY
Route 61 in New Madrid County will be reduced to one lane with a 12-foot width restriction this week so Missouri Department of Transportation crews can perform bridge maintenance.
The section of roadway being reduced is located at Exit 44 off of Interstate 55 near Howardville.
Weather permitting, work will take place from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily through Thursday.
