PORTAGEVILLE BULLDOGS TO PLAY IN THE CLASS 2 STATE BASEBALL SEMIFINALS THIS MORNING
The Portageville Bulldogs are one step away from playing for a state baseball championship.
Portageville has advanced to the state semifinals, where they will meet the Eugene Eagles this morning.
First pitch is scheduled for 10 am today at the Ozark Mountain Sports Complex in Ozark.
The Bulldogs defeated the Veritas Christian Academy Eagles 13-5 last Wednesday in the Class 2 state quarterfinals.

POPLAR BLUFF WOMAN KILLED IN CRASH SOUTH OF DONIPHAN
A Poplar Bluff woman has died from injuries she received in a two vehicle crash Friday afternoon.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the 33 year old woman was driving on Missouri Highway 21, south of Doniphan, when she failed to yield and was struck by a vehicle.
The woman was later pronounced dead at a Poplar Bluff hospital.
No injuries were listed for the driver of the second vehicle.
POPLAR BLUFF BOYS TRACK AND FIELD TEAM WINS STATE CHAMPIONSHIP
Poplar Bluff is welcoming home multiple state champions.
The Poplar Bluff Mules Boys track and field team won the overall Class 4 state championship over the weekend.
Mules athletes also won individual event state championships in the 4x400, 4x200, and 4x100 relays, as well as the 300 and 110 meter hurdles.
TWO WEEK ROAD PROJECT BEGINS TODAY ON NORTH 5TH STREET IN POPLAR BLUFF
North 5th Street in Poplar Bluff will be closed beginning today so contractor crews can perform pavement repairs.
According to the Missouri Department of Transportation, the section of 5th Street being closed is located from Business 60 to Oak Street.
Weather permitting, work will take place from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. daily through Friday, June 12.
BUTLER COUNTY WARNING SIRENS TO BE TESTED TODAY
Don’t be surprised if you hear sirens today in Butler County.
According to the Butler County Emergency Management Office, the county and Poplar Bluff’s outdoor warning sirens are scheduled to be tested today at noon.
Officials say that the tests will be conducted every month on the first Monday.
MAGNITUDE 2.6 EARTHQUAKE HITS SOUTHEAST MISSOURI THURSDAY NIGHT
An earthquake was reported in Southeast Missouri Thursday night.
According to the United States Geological Survey, a magnitude 2.6 earthquake was recorded shortly before 11 pm.
The earthquake was centered approximately seven and a half miles east of Williamsville and had a depth of around three miles.
SEAL COAT OPERATIONS TO IMPACT ROUTE C IN STODDARD COUNTY THIS WEEK
Missouri Department of Transportation crews will be making driving surface improvements this week on Route C in Bollinger and Stoddard counties.
This section of roadway is located from Route 51 in Bollinger County to Route 91 in Stoddard County.
Weather permitting, work will take place today through Thursday from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. daily.
