CANDIDATES PLACED ON WRONG WARDS ON FISK BALLOTS

It has been discovered that ballots were misprinted in a Southeast Missouri town for the Tuesday municipal elections.

Butler County Clerk Donna Hillis tells KWOC News that the candidates for the Fisk Ward 1 and Ward 2 Alderperson races were placed in the opposite wards than they were supposed to be.

The Ward 1 candidates, Chris Williams, Janice Hancock, and Kristi Wilkerson were listed under Ward 2. The Ward 2 candidates, Mikayla Hardcastle, Joseph Stievenart, and Mary Dugger were listed under Ward 1.

Hillis says that is how the city submitted the ballots to them and it will be up to the city on how to move forward. They could appoint people through the city government to fill the positions, or petition a judge to hold a new election.

KWOC News has attempted to contact Fisk City Hall, however could not reach anyone as of this time.
