A Southeast Missouri School is reporting a second gun related incident this week.
According to Eminence school officials, district administration was notified Tuesday that a student had a loaded handgun in their vehicle on school property. The student shared this information with a staff member, who immediately reported it to administration.
Law enforcement was notified and responded promptly. The student was taken into law enforcement custody.
Officials say that at no time during the incident was there an active threat to students or staff. They do not know if Tuesday’s incident was connected to the incident on Monday where a juvenile was arrested in connection to a school shooting threat.
