BONESTOCK RETURNS THIS WEEKEND IN POPLAR BLUFF

A beloved music festival returns this weekend in Poplar Bluff.

The gates will open for Bonestock at 11 am this Saturday at Ray Clinton Park.

11 bands will be performing throughout the day, including Cynderblok, One Way Out, Petalshelf, and Maddy and the Monarchs

Tickets are available for $20 at River Radio in Poplar Bluff. Tickets will also be available for $20 cash at the gate on Saturday.

Part of the proceeds from Bonestock will go to local veterans via the Marine Corps Rose Program, which helps local vets from all military branches and supports youth initiatives.

MAN ARRESTED ON RAPE AND SODOMY RELATED WARRANT IN RIPLEY COUNTY

A man was arrested in Ripley County late Thursday night on a rape and sodomy related warrant.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 38 year old Kenneth Paul, of Brunswick, Missouri, was taken into custody on a warrant out of Chariton County for six counts of 1st degree rape or attempted rape, two counts of 1st degree sodomy or attempted sodomy, two counts of 4th degree child molestation, and a single count of 3rd degree assault.

Following the arrest, Paul was held on no bond.

2025 POPLAR BLUFF WALK TO END ALZHEIMER’S COMING ON SATURDAY

Preparations are underway for an annual event in Poplar Bluff to help fight Alzheimer’s disease.

The 2025 Poplar Bluff Walk to End Alzheimer’s will begin at 10 am on Saturday, October 4th at the Poplar Bluff High School track on Oak Grove Road.

Registration will begin at 9 am that morning and you can also register online at alz.org/PoplarBluff.

All funds raised through the Walk to End Alzheimer's furthers the care, support, and research efforts of the nonprofit Alzheimer's Association.

BUTLER COUNTY 4-H SHOOTING SPORTS CLUB TO HOST COMPETITION FUNDRAISER

The Butler County 4-H Shooting Sports Club will be hosting a competition fundraiser in early October.

The Crazy Quail Team Raffle Shoot has been scheduled for 8 am on October 4th at the Black River Ranch on Honeysuckle Lane in Poplar Bluff.

Registration will begin at 7:30 am and is $100 per two man team.

Proceeds from the event will go towards the 4-H trip to Washington D.C.

KIWANIS FALL CLASSIC GOLF TOURNAMENT SET FOR OCTOBER 3RD

The Kiwanis Fall Classic golf tournament has been scheduled for this week.

The 4 person scramble tournament will be held on Friday, October 3rd at Ozark Ridge Golf Course in Poplar Bluff. Registration will begin at 11 am, with tee-off set for noon.

Organizers say the entry fee is $500 per team, which includes a hole sponsorship.

All proceeds will go to benefit Kiwanis Bacon Park.

13TH ANNUAL LIBERTY DAYS EVENT SCHEDULED FOR OCTOBER 3RD AND 4TH

The Stars and Stripes National Museum and Library in Bloomfield is hosting its 13th annual Liberty Days event in early October.

The two day event will be held from 9 am to 4 pm both October 3rd and 4th. Officials say there will be a living history village, food and craft vendors, live entertainment, battle reenactments, and more.

Admission to the event is free.
