THREE PEOPLE DEAD FOLLOWING HOUSE FIRE IN RURAL RIPLEY COUNTY
A house fire has claimed the lives of three people in Ripley County.
Ripley County Sheriff Rad Talburt tells KWOC News that emergency crews, including around 30 Ripley County firefighters, responded to the fire on State Highway 142 East in rural Ripley County early Tuesday morning.
An adult male, identified as Chad Vandergriff, was pronounced dead at the scene along with two juvenile females.
Two other people, adult Tabitha Vandergriff and a juvenile male, were transported to a Poplar Bluff hospital for treatment of serious injuries. Their current condition has not been released.
The Missouri State Fire Marshal’s Office has responded as a part of the investigation to determine a cause for the fire.
SEND OFF PARADE TO BE HELD IN QULIN TODAY FOR UPCOMING VETERANS HONOR TOUR
The Veterans Honor Tour will depart for their annual Washington DC trip this week and a local community is stepping up to give the veterans the send off they deserve.
Qulin Mayor Justin Parks tells KWOC News that the city of Qulin will be hosting a celebration for the veterans beginning at 9:45 am this morning at the Qulin Lion’s Club Park.
A send off parade will follow at 10 am with the route going from 5th Street, to D Street, to 2nd Street, to A Street, to 4th Street and ending on Connecticut Street.
The public is encouraged to line the streets and wave flags to celebrate our veterans.

IT’S A GREAT PUMPKIN CHARLIE BROWN TO BE SHOWN AT MOVIE IN THE PARK
McLane Park in Poplar Bluff will be converted to a movie theater this weekend.
Movie in the Park will begin at dusk on Friday with a showing of “It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown.”
Food will also be available beginning at 5:30 pm and attendees should remember to bring a lawn chair or blanket.
McLane Park is located off of Highway W, on the north side of Poplar Bluff.
TEENAGER FLOWN TO AREA HOSPITAL FOLLOWING SIDE BY SIDE CRASH NEAR COOTER
A Cooter teenager was injured in a side by side crash Monday evening.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the 17 year old girl was driving on Pemiscot County Road 547 shortly before 6 pm, when the vehicle ran off the road and overturned.
The teen was ejected during the crash.
She was flown to a Memphis hospital with moderate injuries.
BERNIE POLICE INVESTIGATING MULTIPLE REPORTS OF VEHICLE BREAK-INS
Police are investigating multiple reports of vehicle break-ins in Bernie.
According to the Bernie Police Department, the break-ins occurred Monday morning between midnight and 4:30 am around South Spiker Street, Bowman Avenue, Medler Street, and Folk Avenue.
Anyone with exterior cameras in those areas are asked to review your footage and if you see anything suspicious, call 573-293-4454.
Officials say they have been in contact with surrounding jurisdictions that have had multiple vehicle break-ins as well.
PAVEMENT REPAIRS SCHEDULED FOR TODAY IN DEXTER
Route 25 in Stoddard County will be reduced today so MoDOT crews can perform pavement repairs.
Officials say that the section of roadway being reduced is located from Old Bloomfield Road to Route 60 in Dexter.
Weather permitting, work will take place today through 4 p.m.
