WOMAN DROWNS IN CURRENT RIVER
A Salem, Missouri woman drowned over the weekend while kayaking on the Current River.
Officials with the Missouri State Highway Patrol tell KWOC News that 63 year old Katherine Koehnen was pushed into a downed tree by the water current, kayak overturned, and was swept under a tree.
Officials say the incident occurred Sunday afternoon in Shannon County.
KIDS FISHING AND FUN DAY SET FOR JUNE 7TH AT LOST CREEK POND
The US Army Corps of Engineers is preparing for the annual Jack Miller Memorial Kids Fishing and Fun Day.
According to officials, the fishing event, for children ages 5 to 14, will be held from 8 am to 11 am on Saturday, June 7th at Lost Creek Recreation Area. Fishing rods and reels, along with life jackets, will be supplied by the Corps of Engineers.
There will also be prizes and a cookout after the activities.
Anyone participating should meet at the Bill Emerson Memorial Visitor Center at 7 am. Registration is available at the Visitor Center and the Wappapello Lake Management Office.

MISSOURI STATE PARKS TO HOST ARCHERY WORKSHOP AT SAM A BAKER STATE PARK
Missouri State Parks will be hosting an archery workshop this June in Southeast Missouri.
The Learn 2 Aim workshop will be held from 9 am to 11 am on June 13th and 14th at Sam A. Baker State Park in Patterson.
Missouri State Parks will provide the equipment including bows, arrows, atlatls, targets, and expertise in a safe environment.
Participants must be at least 10 years of age and comfortable around archery equipment.
The deadline to sign up for the workshops is June 3rd.

FOUR PEOPLE INJURED IN SINGLE VEHICLE WRECK IN BUTLER COUNTY
Four people including two juveniles were injured in a single vehicle wreck in Butler County.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred on Highway 53, 1 mile south of Poplar Bluff, when a vehicle ran off the side of the roadway and struck a ditch.
A 41 year old female along with an 18 year old female received moderate injuries in the wreck and was transported to a Poplar Bluff hospital. Two juveniles ages 10 and two in the vehicle received minor injuries as well.
THREE RIVERS FUNDRAISING GOLF TOURNAMENT TO BE HELD THIS MONTH.
The 12th Annual Three Rivers Endowment Trust Golf Tournament will be held this month.
The four person scramble tournament will begin with check in and lunch at noon on Friday, June 20th at Westwood Hills Country Club in Poplar Bluff.
Player registration is $150 for individuals and $600 for teams. All proceeds will go to benefit the Three Rivers Annual Fund, which officials say funds special projects and helps make a difference in the lives of TRC students.

CULVERT REPLACEMENT TO CAUSE CLOSURE OF ROAD IN WARDELL AREA
Route B in Pemiscot County will be closed today as Missouri Department of Transportation crews replace a culvert under the roadway.
The section of roadway being closed is located from Route A to County Road 216 near Wardell.
Weather permitting, work will take place today from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
