CHANCE OF SEVERE WEATHER, INCLUDING LARGE HAIL AND DAMAGING WINDS, THIS AFTERNOON AND EVENING
Southeast Missouri and Northeast Arkansas are looking at a risk of severe weather this afternoon and evening.
According to the National Weather Service in Paducah, there are risks for numerous severe thunderstorms, including winds up to around 70 miles per hour as well as one to 1.5 inch hail.
Officials say that a few tornadoes are also possible, however the tornado risk is low.
POPLAR BLUFF MAN ARRESTED ON STATUTORY RAPE AND SODOMY CHARGES
Authorities in Butler County have arrested an area man on multiple sex related charges.
According to the Poplar Bluff Police Department, 48 year old Bradley Henson, of Poplar Bluff, was taken into custody Monday on charges of statutory rape 1st degree, sodomy 1st degree, failure to register as a sex offender, unlawful possession of an illegal weapon, and endangering the welfare of a child.
Henson also reportedly had an active warrant through probation and parole.
Following the arrest, he was held at the Butler County Justice Center.
DATES SET FOR 33RD ANNUAL CHILDREN’S THEATER DRAMA CAMP
The dates have been set for the 33rd Annual Children’s Theater Drama Camp at Three Rivers College.
The camp for students entering 2nd to 8th grade will begin on July 14th at the Tinnin Fine Arts Center on the Three Rivers College Poplar Bluff campus. There will be three separate one week camps this year.
The cost of the drama camp is $75, which includes a T-shirt, scripts, notebook, daily snack and drink.
Registration forms are available at trcc.edu and the deadline to register for each camp is July 7th.
ONE SERIOUSLY INJURED IN EARLY MORNING CRASH NEAR MOREHOUSE
One person was injured early Tuesday morning in a single vehicle crash near Morehouse.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a 24 year old man, from New Madrid, was driving on Missouri Highway E at around 3 am when his vehicle ran off the side of the roadway and struck a ditch before overturning.
The driver, who reportedly was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected from the vehicle and suffered serious injuries during the wreck.
He was transported to a Cape Girardeau hospital.
POPLAR BLUFF PARKS AND RECREATION OFFERING SWIM LESSONS THIS SUMMER
Poplar Bluff Parks and Recreation is offering swimming lessons this summer at the R.W. Huntington Municipal Pool.
Officials say that the program will run from June 23rd through July 24th and the cost is $40. Parents can choose from either Monday and Wednesday sessions or Tuesday and Thursday.

OVERNIGHT RESURFACING WORK UNDERWAY IN DUNKLIN COUNTY
Route 412 in Dunklin County will be reduced to one lane with a 14-foot width restriction for almost a month so contractor crews can resurface the asphalt.
According to the Missouri Department of Transportation, the work zone is located from Kennett Street to Legion Street in Kennett.
Weather permitting, work will take place overnight from 7 p.m. to 7 a.m through Friday, July 11th.
