FIVE INJURED, ONE SERIOUSLY, IN CRASH ON US HIGHWAY 60
Five people were injured in a two vehicle crash Tuesday morning in Butler County.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred on US Highway 60, seven miles east of Poplar Bluff, when a vehicle struck another vehicle, causing the second vehicle to run off the roadway and overturn.
The driver of the first vehicle, a 40 year old male from Charleston, suffered serious injuries in the crash and was flown to a Cape Girardeau hospital.
Four people in the second vehicle received minor injuries and were transported to a Poplar Bluff hospital.

New Madrid citizens have a new police chief.
On Monday, Shane Grissom announced that he was resigning as the Chief of Police for the city of New Madrid. Grissom says the decision was made in the interest of his family and himself, and that he will continue to serve as Fire Chief and as a part-time patrol officer.
City officials announced Monday night that Jeremy David Green will take over as Police Chief. Green is a veteran of the United States Army, and has served various roles in law enforcement for 30 years.
SACRED HEART SCHOOL TO HOST FIESTA AUCTION THIS WEEKEND
Sacred Heart School’s 28th Annual Fiesta Auction has been scheduled for this weekend.
Officials say the event will be held on Saturday at the Black River Coliseum in Poplar Bluff.
There will be both a live and a silent auction. Doors are set to open at 5 pm, with dinner beginning at 6 pm.
Tickets are $25 in advance or $30 if purchased at the door. Each ticket includes dinner and two adult beverages.

PRAYER BREAKFAST SCHEDULED FOR SATURDAY AT UNITED GOSPEL RESCUE MISSION IN POPLAR BLUFF
Poplar Bluff residents and community leaders will be coming together tomorrow for the National Day of Prayer.
A special prayer breakfast has been scheduled for 7 am to 8:30 am on Thursday at the United Gospel Rescue Mission on South Broadway in Poplar Bluff.
The event is free and all Butler County residents are invited to attend.
8TH ANNUAL DONIPHAN CLEAN UP SCHEDULED FOR THIS WEEKEND
An event has been scheduled for this weekend to help clean up the city of Doniphan.
The 8th Annual Doniphan City Clean Up will be held on Saturday, from 9 am to noon for Doniphan City residents.
The drop off will be at a dump site located beside the Old Fred’s Parking lot and no tires will be accepted.

25th ANNUAL POPLAR BLUFF SCHOOL FOUNDATION GOLF TOURNAMENT SET FOR FRIDAY
The 25th Annual Poplar Bluff School Foundation Golf Tournament is coming up this week.
The four person scramble tournament is scheduled for Friday at Ozark Ridge Golf Course. Tee time will be at noon.
All proceeds from the event will go towards the foundation scholarship fund and other educational opportunities.
