JOHN’S PHARMACY TO ASSUME OWNERSHIP OF KEY DRUGS IN POPLAR BLUFF
A retirement has prompted the joining of two drug stores in Poplar Bluff.
Key Drugs owner Marty Michel has announced that he is retiring. John’s Pharmacy will assume ownership and operation of Key Drugs effective on December 1st.
Officials say that the Key Drugs location at 910 North Westwood Boulevard will close at the end of the business day on November 29.
All patient prescription records will be securely and automatically transferred to the John’s Pharmacy location at 909 West Pine Street.
Officials added that the transition is designed to be seamless, and no action is needed from patients.

DONIPHAN MAN FLOWN FROM THE SCENE OF A CRASH MONDAY AFTERNOON
An area man was flown from the scene of a crash Monday afternoon.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a 25 year old Doniphan man was driving on US Highway 160 in Ripley County when his vehicle travelled off the right side of the roadway and struck a culvert.
The driver, who was reportedly not wearing a safety device, was flown to a Memphis hospital with serious injuries.
DISASTER RECOVERY CENTER TO BE AVAILABLE THIS WEEK IN NEW MADRID COUNTY
A Disaster Recovery Center will be available this week in New Madrid County.
The center has been established at the New Madrid Community Center. It will be closed for Veterans Day today, but will reopen from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm on Wednesday and Thursday.
Missourians who sustained damage to their primary residence or personal property due to the severe storms, straight-line winds, tornadoes, and flooding that occurred from March 30th through April 8th of this year can visit the center for one-on-one help.
The counties who are eligible include Butler, Carter, Dunklin, New Madrid, Ripley, Stoddard, and Wayne, among others.
At the centers, affected individuals can get help applying for disaster assistance, speak to state or federal representatives, receive updates on their FEMA registration, and more.
FEMA financial assistance may include money for basic home repairs, personal property losses or other underinsured/uninsured disaster-related needs such as childcare, transportation, medical needs, funeral, or dental expenses. The FEMA registration deadline is December 22nd.

VETERANS DAY CELEBRATIONS WILL BE HELD TODAY IN BUTLER COUNTY
Veterans will be honored during multiple celebrations today in Butler County schools.
The Poplar Bluff Middle School is hosting a Veteran’s Day Parade today. Veterans will be driving through a parade loop around the PBMS campus to be recognized and cheered on by students.
The Parade will begin at 9:15 am.
Only veterans, students, and school staff will be allowed on campus for the event.
The Twin Rivers Elementary and Middle Schools will also be recognizing local veterans during Veterans Day assemblies in both Fisk and Qulin.
The events will begin at 9:30 am at the Qulin Middle School Gymnasium and at 1:30 pm at the Fisk Middle School Gymnasium.
DRIVER EXAMINATION STATIONS TO BE CLOSED TODAY FOR VETERANS’ DAY
Driver examinations will not be available across Missouri today due to the holiday.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, driver examination stations throughout the state will be closed today in observance of Veterans’ Day.
Officials say that normal operations will resume on Wednesday.
POPLAR BLUFF NATIVE KAMERON MISNER TRADED TO THE ROYALS
Kameron Misner will be playing much closer to home next year.
It was announced Monday that the Poplar Bluff native has been traded from the Tampa Bay Rays to the Kansas City Royals.
Misner hit .213 with five home runs and 22 RBIs in 71 games for the Rays in 2025.
The Rays traded Misner for a player to be named later or cash considerations.
