JUVENILE TAKEN INTO CUSTODY IN CONNECTION TO FATAL SHOOTING IN SIKESTON
Updating a story we have been following for you, a juvenile has been taken into custody in connection to a fatal shooting Thursday evening in Sikeston.
According to Sergeant Tyler Rowe, at around 6:45 pm Thursday night, the Sikeston Department of Public Safety received a ShotSpotter alert for several gunshots detected in the 400 block of East Gladys Street.
A gunshot victim was taken to an area hospital and later died of their injuries.
Rowe says that a juvenile has been taken into custody and been formally charged with murder 2nd degree, armed criminal action, four felony counts of child endangerment, and other misdemeanor charges.
Rowe added that due to the sensitive and confidential nature of this incident involving juveniles, this is the only information that can be released at this time and the incident remains under investigation.
QULIN WOMAN INJURED IN MOTORCYCLE CRASH OVER THE WEEKEND
A Qulin woman was the only person injured in a motorcycle crash over the weekend.
Officials with the Missouri State Highway Patrol tell KWOC News that a SUV failed to yield to a motorcycle on Highway N in Butler County when the crash occurred.
The motorcycle driver, identified as a 33 year old woman from Qulin, suffered serious injuries and was transported by air to a Memphis hospital.
MAGNITUDE 2.3 EARTHQUAKE HITS SOUTHEAST MISSOURI MONDAY MORNING
A small earthquake was reported in Southeast Missouri early Monday morning.
According to the United States Geological Survey, a magnitude 2.3 earthquake was recorded shortly before 3 am.
The earthquake was centered less than a mile west of Risco and had a depth of around 3.9 miles.
POPLAR BLUFF MAN FLOWN FROM THE SCENE OF A BUTLER COUNTY CRASH
A Poplar Bluff man was injured in a crash Sunday afternoon.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the crash occurred on Route M, three miles west of Poplar Bluff, when one vehicle turned into the path of another.
A passenger in the first vehicle, identified as a 39 year old Poplar Bluff man, received serious injuries in the crash and was flown to a Memphis hospital.
The driver suffered minor injuries and was transported to a Poplar Bluff hospital.
No injuries were listed for the occupants of the second vehicle.
BRIDGE MAINTENANCE SCHEDULED FOR TODAY ON ROUTE MM IN DUNKLIN COUNTY
Route MM in Dunklin County will be reduced today so Missouri Department of Transportation crews can perform bridge maintenance near Malden.
The section of roadway affected is located from Route J to County Road 122.
Weather permitting, work will take place today from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
MODOT CREWS TO BE WORKING IN PEMISCOT COUNTY THIS WEEK
Route B in Pemiscot County will be reduced to one lane with a 10-foot width restriction this week as Missouri Department of Transportation crews perform pavement repairs.
The section of roadway being reduced is located from Route 412 near Hayti to Route A near Wardell.
Weather permitting, work will take place from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. daily, through Thursday. Flaggers and a pilot car will be in place to guide traffic.
