TCC INSTRUCTOR AWARDED $15,000 GRANT FOR TOOLS

Students at the Poplar Bluff Technical Career Center will have new tools to learn how to use thanks to a SkillsUSA Classroom Enhancement and Community Service Grant.

TCC instructors used $15,000 in grant money to pick up approximately 250 items at an area home improvement store last week.

The shopping spree was secured through a successful proposal written by HVAC/R instructor Dan Parker in an effort to upgrade construction trade classrooms with new equipment.

The instructor spent around $5,000 on power tools alone to enhance his heating and cooling classroom. Parker additionally purchased multiple hand tool kits and tool backpacks for SkillsUSA competitions, pointing out how he tried to focus on something other than consumables with the one-time funding.
