THREE MORE CASES OF COVID-19 CONFIRMED IN BUTLER COUNTY

More cases of the coronavirus continue to be reported in Butler County.

According to the Butler County Health Department, three additional cases have been reported since Wednesday, raising the County’s total to 84. The patients have been quarantined, and the department will be working to contact anyone who may have been exposed to the virus while the patients were active and infectious.

In Missouri, as of Wednesday, there are a total of 18,868 confirmed cases in the state, and 975 deaths have been directly linked to the disease.

If you are showing any symptoms of the virus, such as persistent coughing, fever, or shortness of breath, you are advised to contact your primary healthcare provider before visiting any emergency or hospital room.

THREE JUVENILES, ONE MAN INJURED FOLLOWING VEHICLE CRASH IN RIPLEY COUNTY

Three juveniles and one man were injured as a result of a vehicle crash in Ripley County on Wednesday.

Officials with the Missouri State Highway Patrol tell KWOC News that the crash happened on US 160, west of Doniphan, where a vehicle ran off the roadway and struck a tree.

The three young occupants of the vehicle suffered minor injuries, while the driver was seriously injured as a result of the crash. The three juveniles were transported to a Poplar Bluff hospital, and the driver was flown to a Memphis hospital for treatment.

POPLAR BLUFF POLICE DEPARTMENT SEARCHING FOR THEFT SUSPECT

The Poplar Bluff Police Department is searching for a suspect in a theft investigation.

According to the department, a male suspect was caught on video surveillance entering and stealing from a local storefront. The video footage is available on the Poplar Bluff Police Department’s Facebook page.

ROAD WORK SCHEDULED IN DUNKLIN, NEW MADRID AND MISSISSIPPI COUNTIES

Roadside projects are scheduled for today in Dunklin, New Madrid, and Mississippi Counties.

According to the Missouri Department of Transportation, a section of Route 108 in Dunklin County, at the junction of Route 164 and Route 108, will be closed from 6 am to 4:30 pm today while contractor crews replace a culvert underneath the roadway.

Additionally, a section of Westbound Route 60 in Mississippi and New Madrid Counties, from Route 57 in Mississippi to Route 61 in New Madrid, will be reduced to one lane while undergoing pavement repairs. The work is set to begin today, and continue throughout July 25th.

TWO INJURED FROM ROADWAY COLLISION IN BUTLER COUNTY

Two were injured from a roadway collision in Butler County on Wednesday.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a vehicle was traveling down Route N, south of Oglesville, where it struck an animal that was crossing the roadway.

The driver, and an occupant, of the vehicle received minor injuries from the crash, and were transported to a Poplar Bluff hospital for treatment.

MAN ARRESTED IN WAYNE COUNTY ON DRUG RELATED CHARGES

A Van Buren man was taken into custody in Wayne County on Wednesday on drug related charges.

According to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Department, 30 year old Jonathan Dawson was arrested on a felony charge of possession of a controlled substance – clonazepam, as well as a charge on unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.

Following his arrest, he was transported to the Wayne County Jail.
