MAN FOUND DEAD IN CARTER COUNTY
An Eminence man was found dead over the weekend in Carter County.
Officials with the Missouri State Highway Patrol tell KWOC News that 48 year old Kenneth Yarber had been reported missing by family members before being found on Saturday, four miles south of Van Buren.
Yarber was driving a vehicle on a hillside when the vehicle slid downhill and overturned. The exact time of the accident is unknown.
GOVERNOR PARSON ACTIVATES MISSOURI NATIONAL GUARD
Governor Mike Parson announced yesterday that he was activating the Missouri National Guard.
Parson signed an executive order Monday directing National Guard members to help with response efforts in Jefferson City, where residents are still recovering from a tornado that struck last week.
The National Guard is also headed to Chariton County to sandbag around a stressed levee near the city of Brunswick.
FOUR POPLAR BLUFF ATHLETES PLACE IN TOP 10 DURING EVENTS AT STATE TRACK AND FIELD CHAMPIONSHIP
Multiple Poplar Bluff students qualified for all state honors during the MSHSAA Class 5 State Track and Field Championship on Saturday in Columbia.
Poplar Bluff’s Gage Rowland placed 7th in the pole vault, Khelie Spence placed 8th in the 100 Meter Hurdles, Marquis Johnson placed 8th in the Long Jump, and Xzavier Bartlett placed 8th in the 400 Meter Dash.
Overall the Mules boys’ track and field team ended up in 33rd place, while the girls finished in 41st place.
TWO ARRESTED IN BUTLER COUNTY FOR DELIVERY OF A CONTROLLED SUBSTANCE
Two Arkansas men were arrested last week in Butler County for delivery of a controlled substance.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 56 year old Raymond Martin, of Randolph, and 30 year old Joseph March, of Reyno, were each taken into custody Friday night on a felony charge of delivery of a controlled substance – methamphetamine.
March was also arrested on charges of possession of marijuana and unlawful use of drug paraphernalia.
Following their arrests, both men were held at the Butler County Sheriff’s Office.
TWO TAKEN INTO CUSTODY ON METH AND PARAPHERNALIA CHARGES IN RIPLEY COUNTY
Authorities in Ripley County have arrested two people on drug related charges.
According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 32 year old Brandon Greenway, of Springdale, Arkansas, and 26 year old Kellii Greenway, of Paragould, were both taken into custody Sunday afternoon, shortly after 4 pm.
They were each arrested on a felony charge of possession of a controlled substance for methamphetamine as well as misdemeanor charges of possession of paraphernalia and possession of synthetic cannabis.
Both were held at the Wayne County Jail.
TEENAGER SERIOUSLY INJURED IN WRECK NEAR ELLINGTON
A Southeast Missouri teenager has been flown to an area hospital after being involved in a wreck Monday night.
According to authorities, 19 year old Skyler Odell, of Ellington, was driving on Route K in Reynolds County when her vehicle ran off the side of the roadway, travelled into a ditch, and hit an embankment.
Odell suffered serious injuries in the wreck and was flown to a St. Louis area hospital.
