DONIPHAN MAN PLEADS GUILTY TO CHILD PORNOGRAPHY CHARGE 

A Doniphan man is scheduled to be sentenced in August after pleading guilty to a child pornography charge.  

Officials with the United States Attorney’s Office tell KWOC News that 44 year old Dallas Wuesthoff pled guilty Wednesday to one count of possessing child pornography. 

Law enforcement officials executed a search warrant at Wuesthoff’s home last November and seized various computers and electronic storage devices. An examination of these items revealed the presence of numerous images of child pornography. 

Because Wuesthoff has a prior conviction for a sex-related offense against a minor, federal statutes require that he must serve a mandatory minimum sentence of 10 years in prison for possessing child pornography. The maximum possible sentence is 20 years in prison.  

Wuesthoff is scheduled to appear for his sentencing hearing on August 13th.

POPLAR BLUFF MAN SENTENCED TO 30 YEARS IN PRISON ON ASSAULT CHARGE 

An area man is facing decades in prison after being sentenced on an assault charge.  

According to Missouri Case Net, Jeffrey David Brunelle pled guilty in March to felony charges of Assault 1st degree and burglary 1st degree in connection to an incident in April of last year.  

Earlier this week Brunelle was sentenced to 30 years in the Missouri Department of Corrections on the assault charge and 15 years on the burglary charge.  

The sentences are to be served concurrently.

STODDARD COUNTY ROAD TO BE CLOSED TODAY FOR PAVEMENT REPAIRS

Route N in Stoddard County will be closed today so crews with the Missouri Department of Transportation can perform pavement repairs.  

Officials say that the section of Route N to be closed is located from Route 60 to Route AB. 

Work is scheduled to take place from 7 am to 4:30 pm.

ONE DEAD FOLLOWING STABBING INCIDENT IN KENNETT 

An investigation is underway following a fatal stabbing in the bootheel.  

According to authorities, early Tuesday morning officers in Kennett found 37 year old John Ward, of Kennett, lying outside of a home.  

Ward had a stab wound to the chest and later died at an area hospital. 

Authorities say that a 35 year old man who allegedly stabbed Ward has cooperated with the investigation.  

The man has not been arrested and no charges have been filed.  

SOUTHEAST MISSOURI MAN FACING OVER FOUR YEARS IN PRISON ON CHILD PORNOGRAPHY CHARGE 

An area man has been sentenced on a child pornography charge.  

According to the United States Attorney’s Office, 39 year old Raymond Lindsey, of Hayti, pled guilty in February to one count of receiving child pornography. Lindsey was sentenced Wednesday to 100 months in federal prison.  

In September 2018, law enforcement officials discovered that Lindsey was uploading images and videos consisting of child pornography to a cloud storage account. 

Officials say that after serving his 100-month sentence, Lindsey will be placed on supervised release for a period of 20 years. Lindsey will also be required to register as a sex offender for the rest of his life.

MAN ARRESTED IN STODDARD COUNTY ON MULTIPLE FELONY CHARGES

Authorities in Stoddard County have arrested a Bertrand man on multiple felony charges.  

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 41 year old William Wheatley was taken into custody Wednesday evening on felony charges of resisting arrest by fleeing, driving while intoxicated – chronic offender, and driving while revoked.  

Wheatley is also facing a charge of exceeding the posted speed limit by 26 miles per hour or more.  

Following his arrest, Wheatley was held at the Stoddard County Jail.

BRIDGE ISSUE CAUSES CLOSURE OF NORTHEAST ARKANSAS ROAD 

A Northeast Arkansas road has been closed due to a bridge issue.  

According to the Arkansas Department of Transportation, Highway 168 between Laredo and Fontaine in Greene County is closed due to bridge work. 

The total distance of highway 168 that has been closed is approximately half a mile.  

No time table was available on when the road could reopen.
