BODY OF A WOMAN FOUND IN BUTLER COUNTY

 

The body of a woman was recently located in Butler County.

Butler County Coroner Andy Moore tells KWOC News that anyone who hasn’t heard from a female family member, or friend, in the last few weeks is asked to contact the office with a description of the person, to see if the description matches what the office currently knows of the body.

If you haven’t heard from a female family member, or friend, you are asked to call the Butler County Coroner’s Office at 573-686-7884, or text the office at 573-714-7151.

More information will be released as the investigation on the body continues.

POPLAR BLUFF MAN SENTENCED TO TEN YEARS FOLLOWING HIT AND RUN

 

A Poplar Bluff man was sentenced to ten years in prison following a hit-and-run crash that killed a woman.

According to the Poplar Bluff Police Department, 24 year old Zack Davis, of Poplar Bluff, was charged on felony of first-degree involuntary manslaughter in a hit and run vehicle crash, which killed 23 year old Wendy Dumas, a local resident.

He was also charged on felony tampering with physical evidence, and leaving the scene of a crime, however these charges were dropped after he pleaded guilty to the hit-and-run crash.

NEW MADRID POLICE SEARCHING FOR CULPRITS IN BURGLARY AND VEHICLE BREAK INS

 

The New Madrid County Police are searching for the culprits of a burglary and string of vehicle break-ins.

According to the New Madrid County Sheriff’s Department, two suspects damaged and entered several vehicles at Brown’s Auto Sales in New Madrid on December 23rd, stealing several items from the business.

MAN ARRESTED IN WAYNE COUNTY ON MULTIPLE CHARGES

 

A man was taken into custody in Wayne County on Sunday on multiple charges.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol tells (Station Name) News that 26 year old William Charlton, of Williamsville, was arrested on several Wayne County warrants on felony charges, including burglary – 1st degree, assault – 2nd degree, endangering the welfare of a child creating substantial risk – 1st degree, and armed criminal action.

He was transported to the Wayne County Jail following his arrest.

MAN ARRESTED IN STODDARD COUNTY ON DRUG POSSESSION

 

A man was arrested in Stoddard County on Sunday on a drug possession charge.

According to the Stoddard County Sheriff’s Department, 29 year old Michael Knight, of Dexter, was booked on possession of a controlled substance – Amphetamine, and unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.

He was transported to the Stoddard County Jail following his arrest, on a $35,000 cash only bond.

TWO ARRESTED IN NEW MADRID COUNTY ON DRUG DELIVERY CHARGE

 

Two were taken into custody in New Madrid on Friday on a drug delivery charge.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 46 year old Thomas Bishop, and 42 year old Keshuna Flynn, both of Chicago, were arrested on felony distribution and delivery of a controlled substance – 8 lbs of marijuana.

They were both transported to the New Madrid County Jail following their arrests.

2.5 MAGNITUDE EARTHQUAKE RECORDED NEAR KENNETT

 

An earthquake of over 2.0 magnitude was recorded on Saturday near Kennett.

According to the US Geological Survey, the earthquake originated about 17 miles south of Kennett, near Holland, and measured at 2.5 magnitude and a depth of around 1.3 miles.
