DONIPHAN MAN ARRESTED ON MULTIPLE FELONY CHARGES 

An area resident was taken into custody Friday night in Ripley County on multiple felony charges. 

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 35 year old Derek Fox, of Doniphan, was arrested on felony charges of possession of a controlled substance – marijuana and unlawful use of drug paraphernalia.  

Officials say Fox was held at the Ripley County Sheriff’s Office.

THREE RIVERS COLLEGE MUSIC DEPARTMENT TO PUT ON FESTIVE PERFORMANCE  

The Three Rivers College Music Department will be celebrating the season tomorrow night with a festive-themed performance.  

“Imagine: Joy” will begin at 7 pm Tuesday night at the Tinnin Fine Arts Center.  

The performance will feature Three Rivers students, along with members of the community, performing in vocal ensembles, a large symphonic band, and a jazz ensemble. 

Admission to the concert is free, but tickets are required. Tickets are available at the Poplar Bluff Chamber, the TRC Student Accounts Office, and at the Tinnin Fine Arts Center.

ROAD PROJECT TO BEGIN TODAY IN WAYNE COUNTY 

Northbound Route 67 in Wayne County will be reduced to one lane with a 16-foot width restriction through the end of the year while contractor crews perform erosion repairs.  

The section of roadway to be reduced is located from Business 67 to 3.3 miles north of Business 67 at Greenville. 

Weather permitting, work will take place today through Monday, December 31st from 6:30 am to 4:30 pm daily.

TEENAGER SERIOUSLY INJURED IN CARTER COUNTY WRECK OVER THE WEEKEND 

A Southeast Missouri teenager was seriously injured on Saturday night following a single vehicle wreck in Carter County.  

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, a 16 year old male from Ellsinore, was driving on Missouri Highway 21, when the vehicle ran off the side of the road and overturned.  

The teen was reportedly not wearing a safety device and was ejected from the vehicle.  

He suffered serious injuries during the wreck and was transported to a Poplar Bluff hospital.

DATES SET FOR SOUNDS OF CHRISTMAS AT THE PALACE OF PRAISE 

The dates have been set for a Christmas themed play at a Poplar Bluff church.  

The Palace of Praise is presenting the Sounds of Christmas beginning at 7 pm nightly from December 16th through the 19th.  

Admission to the show is free, but you can also purchase tickets for a dinner theater experience and reserved seating for the show on the 17, 18th, and 19th.  

Christmas gifts will be given away during a special performance on December 16th. If you would like to sign your child up for Christmas gifts or would like more information on the dinner theater tickets, you can contact the church office at 573-785-4232.

DONIPHAN UNITED METHODIST CHURCH TO HOST CHILI COOK-OFF 

A Doniphan church will be hosting a chili cook-off in early December.  

The 1st annual Chili Cook-Off has been scheduled for 10 am to 2 pm on Saturday, December 8th at Doniphan United Methodist Church.  

The cost is $25 to complete and $5 for a bowl or five samples. Prizes will be awarded for People’s Choice and Judge’s Choice.  

All proceeds from the event will go to benefit Boy Scout Troop 4069 in Doniphan.

15TH ANNUAL SANTA LAND EVENT TO BE HELD NEXT MONTH IN POPLAR BLUFF  

The 15th Annual Santa Land event has been scheduled for next month in Poplar Bluff.  

According to the Poplar Bluff Park Department, the event will be held on Tuesday, December 4th, from 6 to 8 pm at the Black River Coliseum. Individuals with special needs may enter at 5 pm.  

During the event, children will get to visit with Santa and participate in many fun holiday activities.
