HALLOWEEN SAFETY TIPS FROM THE POPLAR BLUFF POLICE DEPARTMENT

Halloween is coming up tomorrow and Poplar Bluff Police Chief Danny Whiteley has some tips to help keep your child safe while trick or treating.

Chief Whiteley says parents should establish a route for children, making sure they stay within familiar areas and surroundings. An adult should accompany young children. Parents should also remind kids not to enter strangers' homes or cars, and to avoid homes without an outside light on.

Be sure to tell your children to not eat treats until they get home and remember to inspect all treats before allowing your kids to eat them.

With rain in the forecast for tomorrow, many area communities have rescheduled their Halloween activities for tonight. Contact your local authorities to find out when Halloween festivities will be held in your area.
