TEENAGER ARRESTED IN CONNECTION TO WAYNE COUNTY SHOOTING DEATH

Updating a story we brought to you yesterday, a teenager has been taken into custody in connection to a shooting death of another teenager in Wayne County.

According to authorities, the shooting occurred Wednesday and a 15 year old was arrested in connection to the 13 year old boy’s death.

The victim and suspect were reportedly related. No information was available about a possible motive.

MAN TAKEN INTO CUSTODY FOLLOWING PURSUIT WITH POLICE IN POPLAR BLUFF

A St. Louis man has been taken into custody following a pursuit in Poplar Bluff.

According to authorities, the incident began yesterday with a traffic stop. The suspect continued driving and hit a vehicle and then part of a building.

The driver eventually abandoned the vehicle and fled on foot before being apprehended.

31 year old James Cohen is facing charges including resisting arrest and leaving the scene of an accident.

Following the arrest, he was transported to the Butler County Justice Center.

WOMAN ARRESTED ON ARSON CHARGE IN KENNETT

A woman has been arrested on an arson charge following a fire in Kennett.

According to the Kennett Police Department, the fire occurred Tuesday morning at a residence on West Harrison.

Fire officials notified officers at the scene that the fire appeared suspicious and during the course of the investigation, officers learned that multiple fires had been intentionally set in different locations throughout the house.

Officers further learned that the fires had been set in an apparent suicide attempt.

A 33 year old Kennett woman was arrested for Arson 1st Degree and held in the Dunklin County Justice Center pending the filing of formal charges by the Dunklin County Prosecutor’s office.

COMMUNITY OUTREACH DAY SCHEDULED FOR TODAY IN POPLAR BLUFF

The Poplar Bluff Community Outreach Coalition will be holding an event today for individuals and families in need.

The Community Outreach Day has been scheduled for 10 am to 2 pm at First United Methodist Church in Poplar Bluff.

Officials say that it is a one stop event where individuals and families in need can access free services and assistance.

COMMUNITY THEATER GROUP TO HOLD PERFORMANCES OF ALICE IN WONDERLAND NEXT WEEK

The community theater group for Three Rivers College will be holding multiple performances of Alice in Wonderland next week.

Performances by Center Stage have been scheduled for 7 pm on November 1st through the 3rd and at 2 pm on November 4th at the Tinnin Fine Arts Center.

Tickets are available for $10 each at trcc.edu/tinnin. Tickets can also be purchased at the Poplar Bluff Chamber of Commerce and the Three Rivers Student Accounts Office. Any remaining tickets will be sold at the door.

ROUTE J IN DUNKLIN COUNTY TO BE REDUCED TODAY FOR SHOULDER REPAIRS

Route J in Dunklin County will be reduced to one lane today as Missouri Department of Transportation crews perform shoulder repairs

The work zone will be located between Business 25 and Route H.

Weather permitting, work is set to take place between 8 am and 3 pm.
