AUTHORITIES IN POPLAR BLUFF ATTEMPTING TO FIND CONVICTED SEX OFFENDER 

Authorities in Poplar Bluff are attempting to find a convicted sex offender.  

According to the Poplar Bluff Police Department, 41 year old Derrick Alexander, of Poplar Bluff, is a Tier 3 convicted sex offender who has moved from his registered address without reporting his new address to the Butler County Sheriff's Office.

Anyone who has information on Alexander’s whereabouts is asked to contact Captain David Sutton at 573-686-8649 or your local law enforcement agency.

SHOOTING LEAVES ONE INJURED IN POPLAR BLUFF 

A shooting left one person injured last week in Poplar Bluff.  

According to authorities, 19 year old Michael Childress, of Poplar Bluff, was shot in the arm Friday in the Hart Street area.  

The victim was transported to an area hospital for treatment. Authorities say that no arrests have been made at this time and the incident is under investigation.

METHAMPHETAMINE DISCOVERED DURING SEARCH OF KENNETT HOME 

Authorities in Kennett say that methamphetamine was found during a recent search of a home. 

According to the Kennett Police Department, last week officers received information of a wanted person staying at an area residence.  

Officers located and arrested 44 year old Melissa Guyton, of Kennett, on an active state of Missouri warrant. 

Following the arrest, officers obtained consent to search the residence where they found an undisclosed amount of methamphetamine. 

Officials say that Guyton was held in the Dunklin County Justice Center on the warrant as well as pending the filing of formal charges by the Dunklin County Prosecutor’s office for possession of a controlled substance with the intent to distribute.

BUTLER COUNTY ROAD TO BE CLOSED EARLY THIS WEEK FOR PIPE REPLACEMENT 

Route CC in Butler County will be closed early this week so crews with the Missouri Department of Transportation can perform a pipe replacement. 

Officials say that work is scheduled to take place today and tomorrow from 8 am to 4:30 pm daily. 

The section of roadway to be closed is located from Route U to County Road 645.

17 YEAR OLD MALE FOUND DEAD IN MALDEN, THREE TAKEN INTO CUSTODY 

Three people have been arrested as part of a homicide investigation in Malden.  

Officials with the Malden Police Department tell KWOC News that shortly after 3:30 am Sunday morning officers received a call of an unresponsive male at a Malden residence.  

At the scene, a 17 year old male was found lying on the front porch of the residence. The teen was transported to a Dexter hospital where he was pronounced dead.  

Three Malden men have been taken into custody as part of the investigation. The identities of the victim and arrestees have not been released.  

Officials say that the investigation is still active and anyone with information is asked to contact the Malden Police Department.

DONIPHAN MAN ARRESTED ON METH AND PARAPHERNALIA CHARGES 

A Doniphan man has been taken into custody in Ripley County on drug and paraphernalia charges.  

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 31 year old Jason Orr was arrested Saturday night on a felony charge possession of a controlled substance – methamphetamine.  

Orr is also facing a charge of unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia.  

Following the arrest, Orr was held at the Ripley County Sheriff’s Office.

PAVEMENT REPAIRS TO CAUSE DELAYS IN WAYNE COUNTY 

Southbound Route 67 in Wayne County will be reduced to one lane beginning today while Missouri Department of Transportation crews perform pavement repairs.  

The work zone will be located from Bennet Creek to County Road 213 near Bounds and will be in place overnight. 

Weather permitting, work will take place today through Wednesday.
