PEDESTRIAN DIES AFTER BEING STRUCK BY VEHICLE NEAR POPLAR BLUFF  

 A Williamsville man has died after he was struck by a vehicle Wednesday night.

Officials with the Missouri State Highway Patrol tell us that the vehicle struck 24 year old David Bratton on Route T, seven miles north of Poplar Bluff. The incident occurred at around 9 pm.

Bratton was taken to Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center where he was later pronounced dead.

 

ONE INJURED IN PEDESTRIAN VERSUS TRAIN CRASH

 

 One man has been injured in connection to a pedestrian versus train crash in Campbell.

The name of the victim and his current condition has not been released.

ARMED AND DANGEROUS SUSPECT WANTED IN CONNECTION TO CARUTHERSVILLE ROBBERY

 

 Authorities in Caruthersville are searching for a suspect who is begin called armed and dangerous following an alleged robbery Wednesday night.

38 year old Anthony Jackson is wanted in connection to the armed robbery at Casey’s General Store on Truman Boulevard.

Another man has also been taken into custody in connection to the robbery. His name was not available.

TEENAGER ARRESTED IN CONNECTION TO SCHOOL SHOOTING THREAT IN IRON COUNTY

 

 Authorities in Iron County have released the identity of a teenager who was arrested in connection to a school shooting threat made at Arcadia Valley High School on September 9th.

According to the Iron County Sheriff’s Office, 17 year old Justin Buffington was arrested on a charge of making a terrorist threat. He is currently being held at the Iron County Jail.

State, federal and local Law enforcement agencies assisted during the investigation.

 

DEXTER MAN ARRESTED ON WARRANT FOR 1ST DEGREE SEX ABUSE

 

 A Dexter man has been taken into custody on a controlled substance warrant.

According to the Dexter Police Department, 21 year old Hunter Allen Chadd was recently arrested on a warrant for possession of a controlled substance and 1st degree sex abuse with physical harm.

Chadd’s bond was set at $20,000.

 

NAYLOR R-2 SCHOOLS TO BE CLOSED TODAY

 

 Naylor R-2 students will not be in class today due to a service being held for Jason Rose.

Rose, who was 39 years old when he died on Sunday, had served as Principal at Naylor Elementary School as well as Associate Pastor of New Covenant Fellowship Church in Poplar Bluff.

According to the Naylor R-2 Facebook page, there will be no school today so that students and staff may attend the Celebration of Life service for Rose. The service will be held at New Covenant Fellowship Church at 2 pm.

 

THURSDAY AT THE STODDARD COUNTY FAIR

 

 Multiple events are on the schedule tonight at the Stoddard County Fair.

The night will begin at 6 pm with cattle and hog judging at Arena A followed by the FFA Tractor Rodeo at 7 pm.

Also beginning at 7 pm will be karaoke at Arena B and a performance by the Justin Heskett Band on the Fair’s Main Stage. A hypnosis and magic show will also be featured tonight at the Fair.

OVER YEAR LONG ROAD PROJECT UNDERWAY IN CARTER COUNTY

 

 Route M in Carter County will be reduced to one lane with a 10-foot width restriction through late next year so contractor crews can perform shoulder improvements.

According to the Missouri Department of Transportation, the work zone is located from US 60 to the end of state maintenance.

Weather permitting, work will continue daily through Wednesday, November 1st, 2017 from 6 am to 7 pm, including weekends as necessary.
