WYATT PLEADS NOT GUILTY TO FIRST DEGREE MURDER  

A Poplar Bluff man has pled not guilty following his arrest in connection to an area murder.

According to the Missouri Case Net, 39 year old Eric Wyatt appeared in court last week, waived arraignment, and pled not guilty on a charge of first degree murder.

He was arrested on Thursday in connection to the death of 79 year old Marion Carter, of Poplar Bluff.

A preliminary hearing for the case was scheduled for October 6th.

 

POPLAR BLUFF WOMAN ARRESTED ON MANSLAUGHTER WARRANT

 

A Poplar Bluff woman was taken into custody over the weekend on a manslaughter warrant.

According to authorities, 46 year old Pamela Cochran was arrested Saturday by the Missouri State Highway Patrol on a Butler County Warrant for involuntary manslaughter.

Cochran was held at the Stoddard County Sherriff’s Office on a $25,000 bond.

 

POPLAR BLUFF MAN TAKEN INTO CUSTODY ON MULTIPLE FELONY CHARGES

 

Authorities in Ripley County have taken a Poplar Bluff man into custody on multiple felony charges.

According to the Highway Patrol, 33 year old James Gluck was arrested Saturday evening on felony charges of resisting arrest, possession of a controlled substance – methamphetamine, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Following the arrest, Gluck was transported to the Doniphan Police Department on a 24 hour hold.

 

TWO BUTLER COUNTY ROAD PROJECTS SCHEDULED TO BEGIN TODAY

 

Officials with the Missouri Department of Transportation say that two road projects are scheduled to be done today in Butler County.

Route W will be reduced to one lane so crews can perform pavement repairs from Route O to Route KK.

Work will performed from 6:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Route 53 in Butler County will be also be reduced to one lane from 8 am to 3 pm today for bridge maintenance.

The bridge is located over Black River between County Roads 202 and 205.

 

MAN ARRESTED ON MULTIPLE DRUG RELATED CHARGES IN BUTLER COUNTY

 

An area man is facing multiple drug related charges in connection to his arrest in Butler County.

Officials with the Missouri State Highway Patrol tell KWOC News that 29 year old Carl Hiles, of Poplar Bluff, was arrested shortly after noon on Sunday.

He is facing charges of possession of methamphetamine, possession of drug paraphernalia, and driving while suspended.

 

MAN IN CUSTODY ON CHARGES OF CHILD MOLESTATION AND STATUTORY RAPE

 

A Southeast Missouri man is facing multiple charges including child molestation.

According to Missouri Case Net, a warrant was issued on Friday for 52 year old Christopher Jenkins, of New Madrid, on three counts each of child molestation, statutory rape, and statutory sodomy.

Jenkins was taken into custody by the New Madrid Police Department.

 

NON COMPLIANT SEX OFFENDER ARRESTED IN NEW MADRID COUNTY

 

A non compliant sex offender has been taken into custody in New Madrid County.

New Madrid County Sheriff Terry Stevens tells KWOC News that 58 year old Willie Mays Jr., of New Madrid, was wanted on an active warrant for failure to register as a sex offender.

Stevens says Mays was also wanted for questioning in a sexual assault which occurred on September 15th in Lilbourn.

 

ROAD WORK SCHEDULED FOR THIS WEEK IN CARTER COUNTY

 

Crews with the Missouri Department of Transportation will be in Carter County today to in Carter County partially overlay Route Y.

During the project, Route Y will be reduced to one lane from US 60 to the end of state maintenance.

Weather permitting, work will be performed today through Thursday from 6:30 am to 5 pm, daily.
