FIREWORKS SET FOR TONIGHT IN POPLAR BLUFF, PARADE SCHEDULED FOR TOMORROW

Fireworks are set to light up Poplar Bluff tonight.

The Briggs and Stratton Fireworks Show will held at dusk tonight at Ray Clinton Park.

The 4th of July parade will be held tomorrow morning, beginning at 9 am. There is no registration requirement to enter the parade, just be at the waterpark by 8 am.

Both events had to be postponed from the 4th of July due to weather concerns.

 

 

PILOT KILLED IN CROP DUSTER CRASH IN DUNKLIN COUNTY

One man is dead after a plane crashed Thursday morning in Dunklin County.

According to authorities, 48 year old Jack Short, of Kennett, was piloting a crop duster when the plane hit power lines and crashed outside of Kennett.

Short was killed in the crash. RIVER RADIO BLOOD DRIVE TO BE HELD TODAY

Areas residents will get a chance to save lives and get a Cardinals T-Shirt today at the River Radio Blood Drive.

The blood drive has been scheduled for noon to 6 pm at the Sacred Heart Catholic School Gym in Poplar Bluff.

The American Red Cross has issued an emergency call for blood and platelets, urging all eligible donors to give to replenish an extremely low summer blood supply.

Officials say that presenting donors will receive a St. Louis Cardinals commemorative T-Shirt while supplies last. CHILD ARRESTED FOR ATTEMPTED STABBING

An attempted stabbing in Butler County has resulted in the arrest of a child.

According to authorities, the 11 year old boy was arrested on Monday. The boy had had allegedly chased his mother with a knife and attempted to stab a Butler County Deputy.

The deputy was not injured in the incident. QULIN MAN ARRESTED ON METH AND RESISTING ARREST CHARGES

A Qulin man is facing multiple charges following his arrest Thursday morning in Butler County.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 29 year old James Mesey was arrested shortly after 10 am Thursday on a felony charge of possession of a controlled substance – methamphetamine.

Mesey is also facing a charge of resisting arrest by fleeing. Following the arrest, Mesey was held at the Butler County Sheriff’s Office. DEXTER GRILLE IT UP EVENT TO BE HELD ON SATURDAY

Multiple events have been scheduled for the 1st annual Dexter “Grille It Up.”

The community event will be held from 8:30 am to 3:30 pm Saturday at the Dexter East Park.

Events scheduled for the day include a car show, a bubble soccer tournament, art contest, beauty pageant, and dog show.

Officials in Doniphan have lifted a boil water notice that was issued earlier this week.

According to the Doniphan Police Department, the notice was issued on Tuesday for residents in the Sunny Acres Subdivision from Mabel Street east to the city limits and from Barbara Street south to Thompson Drive.

The notice was lifted on Thursday. POPLAR BLUFF BASEBALL CARD TRADE SHOW SCHEDULED FOR JULY 9TH

Baseball card collectors will get the opportunity to buy, sell, and trade their cards at an upcoming event in Poplar Bluff.

The Poplar Bluff Baseball Card Trade Show has been scheduled for 9 am to 3 pm on July 9th at Holiday Inn.

Admission to the event is free.
