ROMBAUER MAN ARRESTED FOR ALLEGEDLY ASSAULTING CHILDA Rombauer man has been taken into custody following an alleged assault of a juvenile.

According to the Butler County Sheriff’s Office, a Deputy was dispatched to a residence Sunday in reference to a disturbance in progress.

A man at the residence told the deputy that he observed 36 year old Raymond Russell strike a juvenile during an altercation.

The juvenile said that he and Russell had been involved in an argument that escalated into a physical altercation. During the altercation, Russell allegedly grabbed the juvenile and threw him to the floor. The juvenile says Russell then got on top of him and struck him with an open hand between twenty and thirty times.

Russell was arrested and taken to the Butler County Justice Center on charges of 2nd degree endangering the welfare of a child and 3rd degree assault.

 

GREENVILLE MAN FACING METH AND MARIJUANA CHARGES OUT OF WAYNE COUNTY A Greenville man is facing multiple charges in connection to his arrest Monday afternoon in Wayne County.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 33 year old Joshua Taylor was arrested on charges of possession of under 35 grams of marijuana, tampering with evidence, and possession of a controlled substance methamphetamine.

Following the arrest, Taylor was transported to the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office.

 

20 ARRESTS MADE IN SOUTHEAST MISSOURI AS A PART OF THE 20 MILE TROOPER PROJECT Highway Patrol officials say 20 arrests were made this past weekend in Southeast Missouri as a part of the 20 mile trooper project.

Captain Jeffrey N. Vitale, commanding officer of Troop E, says that 13 of the arrests were for driving while intoxicated and the other seven were drug arrests. In addition, troopers issued 124 speed summonses, 32 seat belt summonses, and 21 child restraint summonses.

During the operation on Friday and Monday, Troopers were assigned to patrol 20-mile intervals on major highways and interstates in Southeast Missouri.

 

TWO SERIOUSLY INJURED IN NEW MADRID COUNTY MOTORCYCLE WRECK Two Gideon residents were seriously injured Monday following a wreck in New Madrid County.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, both Michael and Nichole Cossey were riding on a motorcycle when a truck pulled into their path at US 62 and Highway 25.

Following the wreck, both people were taken by Air Medical to Regional One Health in Memphis. No injuries were listed for the driver of the truck.

 

TWO ARRESTED ON METH CHARGES IN NORTHEAST ARKANSAS Two men were taken into custody over the weekend in Northeast Arkansas on meth charges.

Greene County Sheriff David Carter tells us that Robert Sanders was arrested for possession of crystal meth with purpose to deliver and James Lenderman was arrested for possession of crystal meth and drug paraphernalia. Carter did not specify if the arrests were connected to each other.

In addition to those two arrests, Carter says there were numerous arrests and warrants served each day throughout the holiday weekend.

 

DWI SATURATION SCHEDULED FOR THIS MONTH IN BUTLER COUNTY Sometime this month, troopers with the Missouri State Highway Patrol will be conducting an operation in Butler County.

Captain Jeffrey Vitale tells us that the operation will be a driving while intoxicated saturation enforcement operation. A driving while intoxicated saturation is a mobile operation in which troopers saturate a specific area in an effort to arrest impaired drivers.

Vitale says the operation will be conducted by the Highway Patrol in cooperation with local law enforcement agencies.
