WOMAN WANTED FOR ROBBERY, BURGLARY, AND ASSAULT TAKEN INTO CUSTODYUpdating a story we brought to you last week, authorities in Poplar Bluff say a woman who was wanted for multiple offenses has been taken into custody.

According to the Poplar Bluff Police Department, Amber L. Reno was wanted for robbery, burglary, and assault.

Officials say she was in custody as of Friday evening.

 

ENDANGERED PERSON ADVISORY FOR TWO MISSING CHILDREN HAS BEEN CANCELLED An Endangered Person Advisory for two missing children in Southeast Missouri has been cancelled.

The advisory was issued by the Dunklin County Sheriff’s Office on Friday for a missing three year old girl and one year old boy from Hornersville.

The children were taken by their non custodial grandparent from Hornersville to Pacific, but had not arrived when the advisory was issued. Family had been unable to contact the grandparent and had concerns about her mental state.

The advisory was cancelled later on Friday after the subjects were found safe.

 

PUBLIC MEETING SCHEDULED TO DISCUSS BRIDGE PROJECT IN BUTLER AND STODDARD COUNTIES A Public Meeting has been scheduled for next month in Qulin to discuss an upcoming bridge project in Butler and Stoddard Counties.

The Missouri Department of Transportation will hold the meeting from 4 to 6 p.m. on Thursday, June 9th at the Qulin Middle School.

The project includes replacing the deck of the Route U Bridge over the St. Francis River Overflow. The bridge will close for six to eight weeks as construction is underway.

Additional details regarding the contractor’s schedule will be released prior to the start of construction. Completion is anticipated in late 2017 or early 2018.

 

CHAFFEE MAN ALLEGED TO HAVE SEXUALLY ASSAULTED A CHILD A Chaffee man has been arrested on charges of statutory rape and statutory sodomy.

According to Scott County Sheriff Rick Walter, on May 17th a detective with the Scott County Sheriff’s Office began investigating allegations that 24 year old Michael Moore had sexually assaulted a 12 year old child. The allegations were reported to the Child Abuse and Neglect Hotline.

Moore was taken into custody following an anonymous tip about his whereabouts. A warrant was issued for Moore on the charges of statutory rape 1st degree and statutory sodomy 1st degree. His bond was set by the court at $75,000 cash only.

 

DEXTER POLICE TO PARTICIPATE IN STATEWIDE SEAT BELT CRACK DOWN Dexter Police will be participating in a statewide seat belt mobilization beginning today.

The crackdown has been scheduled for May 23rd through June 5th.

Lieutenant Joshua Benton tells us that Dexter Officers will be pulling out all stops to ensure motorists are buckling up.

According to the Dexter Police Department six out of 10 people killed in Missouri traffic crashes are unbuckled.

 

BRIDGE MAINTENANCE TO CAUSE DELAYS TODAY IN STODDARD COUNTY Crews with the Missouri Department of Transportation will be in Stoddard County today for multiple projects.

Westbound Route 60 will be reduced to one lane today so Missouri Department of Transportation crews can perform bridge maintenance. The bridge is located between Route 114 and Route AH.

Route OO will also be reduced to one lane today while crews perform pavement repairs from Route 25 to the end of state maintenance.

Work will take place on both projects from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m.

 

MULES WRESTLING CAMP TO BE HELD THIS WEEK The Poplar Bluff High School Wrestling team and staff will be teaching children about the fundamentals of wrestling this week.

The 2016 Mules Wrestling Camp will be held on from 1 to 3 pm on May 24th, 25th, and 26th, at the Poplar Bluff High School Annex.

The camp is for students in Kindergarten through 8th grade and will cost $25 per wrestler.
