TRAFFIC STOP LEADS TO ARREST OF POPLAR BLUFF MAN ON DRUG CHARGESPoplar Bluff Police say two people have been arrested for endangering the welfare of a child after children were found living in squalor conditions at an area residence.

TRAFFIC STOP LEADS TO ARREST OF POPLAR BLUFF MAN ON DRUG CHARGES A Poplar Bluff man has been taken into custody following a traffic stop early Tuesday morning.

According to the Poplar Bluff Police Department, an officer conducted the traffic stop for a subject speeding.

During the stop the officer identified the driver as 23 year old Nicholas Peoples. The officer was also informed that Peoples had an active warrant for his arrest for failure to appear and then placed him under arrest.

During a search the officer found two small baggies in Peoples jeans. One baggie contained eight pills that were later identified as Alprazolam. The other bag had a small bud of a green leafy substance that was believed to be marijuana.

Peoples was lodged in the Butler County Justice Center on charges of possession of a controlled substance and possession of 35 grams or less of marijuana.

 

WARRANT ISSUED FOR MAN SHOT DURING ALLEGED ATTEMPTED ROBBERY A teen is facing charges after he was shot during an alleged attempted robbery in Kennett.

According to Missouri Case Net, the warrant was issued for 19 year old Quamayne Rose on charges of burglary and attempted robbery.

Rose was shot in the foot during the incident on Sunday where he allegedly went to a residence attempted to rob the people there.

 

POPLAR BLUFF MAN ACCUSED OF POINTING TASER AT CHILD A Poplar Bluff man is accused of pointing a taser at a child.

According to the Butler County Sheriff’s Office, deputies say that a victim reported that 36 year old Travis Mangrum had been involved in an argument with one of the victims prior to the incident. Mangrum allegedly followed the woman through a residence while firing his flashlight taser off.

The victim’s 11 year old child responded to his mom asking for help and that was when Mangrum allegedly pointed the device at him. The child was able to sneak out and call 911.

Mangrum is facing charges of 2nd degree domestic assault and 1st degree endangering the welfare of a child.

 

MAN CHARGED FOLLOWING WRECK OUTSIDE OF POPLAR BLUFF A Poplar Bluff man is facing multiple charges following a wreck Tuesday evening in Butler County.

According to the Highway Patrol, 61 year old Keith Hodge was travelling North on Highway 142 when he struck a vehicle that was backing into a private drive.

A passenger in the second vehicle suffered minor injuries.

A short time following the wreck, Hodge was arrested on charges of careless and imprudent driving resulting in a motor vehicle accident and felony 2nd degree assault.

 

DONIPHAN WOMAN ARRESTED ON DRUG CHARGE A Doniphan woman is facing a felony drug charge in connection to her arrest Tuesday afternoon in Butler County.

According to authorities, 28 year old Holly Daugherty was arrested on a felony charge of possession of a controlled substance – xanax.

Daugherty is also facing charges of driving while intoxicated – drugs, speeding, and tampering with evidence.

 

BLOOMFIELD RESIDENT TAKEN INTO CUSTODY FOR ALLEGEDLY ASSAULTING LAW ENFORCEMENT OFFICER A Bloomfield resident is facing multiple charges out of Stoddard County.

The Stoddard County Sheriff’s Department tells us that 22 year old Tyler Dixon is in custody on charges of resisting arrest and two counts of 2nd degree assault on a law enforcement officer.

No bond was reported for Dixon.

 

RAMS TO MOVE TO CALIFORNIA The St. Louis Rams are no more.

The NFL announced on Tuesday that the Rams will be moving to the Los Angeles area for the 2016 season.

The Rams will be returning to Southern California 21 years after moving to St. Louis in 1995.
