CREWS ON SCENE OF POPLAR BLUFF FIRECrews are at the scene of an early morning fire in Poplar Bluff.

Details are scarce at the moment, but the structure is located near the downtown area.

DEXTER WOMAN ARRESTED ON MULTIPLE FELONY CHARGES Authorities say a Dexter woman is facing multiple felony charges after her arrest Tuesday night.

Officials with the Missouri State Highway Patrol tell us that 29 year old Candice Farver was arrested in Stoddard County on felony charges of possession of methamphetamine and driving while intoxicated – alcohol.

Farver is also charged with careless and imprudent driving involving an accident.

 

WAPPAPELLO MAN FACING DRUG CHARGE A Wappapello man was arrested Wednesday afternoon on a felony drug charge.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, 35 year old Tommy Green was taken into custody shortly after 4:30 pm Wednesday in Butler County.

Green is facing charges including driving while revoked and felony possession of a controlled substance.

 

SEVERE WEATHER CAUSES DAMAGE ACROSS SOUTHEAST MISSOURI Wednesday’s severe weather caused damage across Southeast Missouri.

According to the National Weather Service, there were trees reported down in multiple counties including Carter, Wayne, and Stoddard, where a tree was down on a house near Puxico.

Multiple communities were also without power. A power line was brought down over Highway 21 in Carter County causing the highway to be closed for a period of time.

Damage was also reported at the Clearwater Campground in Piedmont where one camper was flipped upside down. There was also damage to storage units, carports and trees.

 

SUSPECT IN CUSTODY FOLLOWING HOMICIDE IN NORTHEAST ARKANSAS Authorities in Greene County say a suspect is in custody in connection to a homicide.

According to authorities, a woman was shot and killed early Wednesday morning at the Lorado Grocery Store. The victim has been identified as 45 year old Stacy Quintana, of Paragould.

A male at the location was stabbed and suffered non-life threatening injuries.

36 year old Stacy Keplinger, of Leachville, has been arrested on charges including capital murder and aggravated assault.

 

EMINENCE WOMAN SERIOUSLY INJURED IN SINGLE VEHICLE WRECK An Eminence woman has serious injuries following a single vehicle wreck in Shannon County.

According to authorities, the wreck occurred shortly before 7:30 am Wednesday when a vehicle driven by 43 year old Jodi Harper traveled off the side of Highway 19 and struck a tree.

Harper was taken by ambulance to a Springfield hospital following the wreck. A 2 year old child in the vehicle suffered minor injuries and was taken to a West Plains hospital.

 

REGISTRATION OPEN FOR 3RD ANNUAL THREE RIVERS ENDOWMENT TRUST TRIVIA NIGHT Teams can now register for the upcoming 3rd annual Trivia night fundraiser and dinner held by the Three Rivers Endowment Trust.

The event has been scheduled for Saturday, February 20th, at the Poplar Bluff Elks Lodge. Dinner will start at 5 pm, with the trivia competition beginning at 7 pm.

Officials say tables will be $120 for a six-person team, with an extra $10 per person charge for dinner. Proceeds from the trivia competition will go towards the T.R.U.S.T. scholarship, with proceeds from the dinner going toward the Elks Lodge #2452 scholarships.

The T.R.U.S.T. scholarship provides retraining for workers that have been laid off and education for single parents. Recipients are students who would not qualify for scholarships demanding a higher GPA or students who just missed the financial cut-off for federal aid.
