SOUTHEAST MISSOURI MAN FACING SODOMY CHARGEA Caruthersville man is facing multiple charges in connection to an alleged incident involving a young child.

According to Missouri Case Net, 28 year old Gerald McCanless has been charged with felonious restraint and two counts of 1st degree sodomy or attempted sodomy.

The incident allegedly occurred on November 25th with a child who is under 12 years old. McCanless was arrested by the Caruthersville Police Department and is being held on a $250,000 cash only bond.

 

TWO INJURED, ONE SERIOUSLY, DURING SINGLE VEHICLE WRECK IN BUTLER COUNTY A Dexter man has seriously injuries following a single vehicle wreck in Butler County.

According to the Highway Patrol, the wreck occurred Monday morning when a vehicle driven by 70 year old Jerry Bennett ran off the side of Highway T and struck a tree.

Bennett was taken to a Poplar Bluff hospital with serious injuries. A passenger in the vehicle suffered moderate injuries.

 

TWIN RIVERS PROJECT GRADUATION TO HOST PANCAKE BREAKFAST The Princess and Pirate Pancake Breakfast has been scheduled for 9 am to 11 am on Saturday, December 5th at the Elks Lodge in Poplar Bluff.

Tickets are available for $20 in advance and a ticket will include breakfast, games, activities, and a free picture. One parent will get in free per child ticket and children are encouraged to come dressed as a princess or pirate. Tickets will also be available at the door for $25.

MISSOURI TRAFFIC CRASH NUMBERS UP OVER HOLIDAY WEEKEND The Thanksgiving holiday weekend saw a big increase in traffic crashes in Missouri.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, troopers investigated 544 traffic crashes, which included 150 injuries and nine fatalities during the Thanksgiving Counting Period.

During the 2014 Thanksgiving holiday, troopers investigated 319 traffic crashes, which included 109 injuries.

The Highway Patrol only reported one boating crash during the holiday weekend. There were no injuries in connection to that crash.

 

ANOTHER EARTHQUAKE RECORDED IN SOUTHEAST MISSOURI Less than a week after a series of earthquakes were felt in Southeast Missouri, officials say another quake has been recorded.

According to the United States Geological Survey, a 2.5 magnitude earthquake was observed shortly before 10 am four miles southwest of New Madrid.

The survey says the earthquake had a depth of 3.5 miles.

 

THREE RIVERS COLLEGE MUSIC DEPARTMENT TO HOST A NIGHT AT THE CARTOONS The Three Rivers College Music Department will be hosting a special cartoon centered performance tonight at the Tinnin Fine Arts Center.

“A Night at the Cartoons” is scheduled to begin at 7 pm. During the event, the Collegiate Choir will sing selections from animated film and television.

Admission to “A Night at the Cartoons” is free.
