AUTHORITIES ON SCENE OF STRUCTURE FIRE IN BUTLER COUNTY Butler County authorities are at the scene of a structure fire.

The fire is located at a residence on Lake View Drive. Authorities say that everyone was able to get out of the residence safely.

  TWO INJURED IN STODDARD COUNTY WRECK Two people were injured Wednesday morning, one seriously, in a two vehicle wreck on Highway 60 in Stoddard County.

According to authorities, the wreck occurred when a vehicle driven by 31 year old Bobby Beights, of Poplar Bluff, failed to yield and struck another vehicle in the rear.

Beights suffered serious injuries and was taken to the Poplar Bluff Regional Medical Center. A passenger in Beights’ vehicle received minor injuries.

 

 

POPLAR BLUFF POLICE SEARCHING FOR AREA MAN Poplar Bluff police are trying to get in contact with an area man and are seeking the public’s help in finding him.

Police are searching for Bruce Jordan Jr. A picture of Jordan is available on our Facebook page.

Anyone who has information about Jordan’s whereabouts is asked to contact the Poplar Bluff Police Department at 573-785-5776.

  GREENVILLE WOMAN FACING RESISTING ARREST CHARGE A Greenville woman is facing multiple charges in connection to her arrest Wednesday in Wayne County.

According to the Highway Patrol, 25 year old Casandra Mann was taken into custody at around 10:45 am on charges of resisting arrest, careless and imprudent driving, failure to stop at a stop sign, and failure to drive on the right half of the roadway.

Following her arrest, Mann was held at the Wayne County Sheriff’s Office.

  THIS WEEKEND MARKS THE START OF MISSOURI FIREARMS DEER SEASON Hunters across the state of Missouri will be setting out this weekend for the start of firearms deer season.

According to the Missouri Department of Conservation, the November portion of the firearms deer season will run from November 14th through the 24th. Hunters can take one antlered deer during the entire firearms season.

  THREE RIVERS COLLEGE STUDENT AND STAFF MEMBER GIVEN STATE AWARDS A Three Rivers College student and staff member were recently honored at the Missouri Community College Association’s annual conference.

Allen Blackman, an Information Systems Technology and Engineering student at Three Rivers College, received a Missouri Community College Association Student Leadership Award.

Blackman has been a Student Ambassador at Three Rivers for two years, taking on a leadership role in mentoring and training new Ambassadors. He has also helped to raise $1,000 for UCAN and helped collect items for the Baptist Student Union food pantry.

Also at the conference, Stacey Ward was given a Missouri Community College Association Senior Service Award. Ward is the Coordinator of Library Public Services and has been a constant fixture at Three Rivers’ Myrtle Rutland Library since 1984.

  VA HOSPITAL DONATES WHEELCHAIRS TO POPLAR BLUFF SCHOOL DISTRICT The John J. Pershing VA Medical Center recently made a donation to the Poplar Bluff R-1 School District.

The hospital donated two new wheelchairs which were designed for children.

A VA spokesperson said Poplar Bluff has a strong support network, and the hospital considers it an honor to give back when it can.
