ONE DEAD, ANOTHER SERIOUSLY INJURED, FOLLOWING SINGLE VEHICLE WRECK IN PEMISCOT COUNTY  

A Hayti woman is dead following a single vehicle wreck Thursday morning.

Sergeant Clark Parrott with the Missouri State Highway Patrol tells KWOC News that a vehicle driven by 60 year old Everlene Fane ran off a County Road, struck a ditch, and overturned near Hayti.

Fane was pronounced dead at the scene. A 79 year old passenger in the vehicle suffered serious injuries and was flown to a Memphis hospital.

 

DRUGS AND STOLEN FIREARM FOUND DURING TRAFFIC STOP

 

Two men have been taken into custody in connection to a traffic stop in Poplar Bluff.

According to the Poplar Bluff Police Department, an officer conducted the stop shortly after 6 pm Wednesday for an improper registration. During the stop the officer observed marijuana in the vehicle.

A further search resulted in officers finding marijuana, pills, and multiple guns, including one that was identified as stolen.

21 year old Tavion Young and 18 year old Keith Farr, both of Malden, were taken into custody.

Both, Young and Farr are facing charges of receiving stolen property, unlawful use of a weapon, and possession of a controlled substance.

 

POPLAR BLUFF CHURCH TO HOST UNITY SERVICE THIS WEEKEND WITH POLICE OFFICERS

 

A Poplar Bluff church has announced they will be hosting a Unity Service on Sunday with law enforcement.

The service, “Bridging the Gap,” will begin at 5 pm at Mt. Calvary Powerhouse Church on Speedway Drive.

TWO ARRESTED IN CONNECTION TO REPORTED STOLEN VEHICLE

 

A stolen vehicle report led to the arrest of two people Wednesday in Poplar Bluff.

KWOC News spoke with Patrolman Jeff Hovis with the Poplar Bluff Police Department about the incident:

Additionally, Hovis said that Tropf is lodged at the Butler County Justice Center on tampering charges along with a no bond probation and parole warrant.

 

TWO SERIOUSLY INJURED IN HEAD-ON COLLISION

 

Two people were flown to a St. Louis hospital Thursday in connection to a head on collision in Iron County.

According to the Missouri State Highway Patrol, the wreck occurred when a vehicle driven by 17 year old Hunter Skaggs, of Rolla, ran off the side of the road, overcorrected, and then hit another vehicle head on.

Both Skaggs and the driver of the second vehicle, 47 year old Lockianna Bennett, of Patterson, were seriously injured in the collision.

 

PERFORMANCES OF JOSEPH AND THE AMAZING TECHNICOLOR DREAMCOAT TO BEGIN NEXT WEEK

 

Center Stage and the Three Rivers College Music Department are preparing for their upcoming performances of the hit musical Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat.

The shows at the Tinnin Fine Arts Center will begin at 7 pm on November 12th, 13th, and 14th. A final performance is scheduled for 2 pm on November 15th.

The musical retells the Biblical story of Joseph and his coat of many colors as an energetic, family-friendly musical.

Tickets can be purchased for $10 at the Poplar Bluff Chamber of Commerce and the Three Rivers Financial Services Office. Tickets also will be sold at the door.
