ONE DEAD FOLLOWING TWO VEHICLE CRASH IN NORTHEAST ARKANSAS
One person has died in connection to a two vehicle crash in Northeast Arkansas.
Officials with the Paragould Police Department tell KWOC News that shortly before 9 am Thursday morning a pickup truck and a tractor-trailer were involved in a crash on the Highway 412 Bypass, east of the Highway 358 intersection.
Preliminary details indicate that the pickup truck was passing another vehicle in a no passing zone when it met the tractor-trailer.
The operator of the tractor-trailer attempted to avoid the crash but was unable to do so.
When emergency responders arrived at the scene, they found the tractor-trailer overturned just off the roadway, and the pickup truck disabled in the middle of the highway. The driver of the pickup truck, 55 year old Jeri Sue Banks, of Paragould, was found to be deceased.
The operator of the tractor-trailer had minor injuries and was transported to a local hospital for treatment.
